So I took a preg test today and now I'm kind of confused...
here's the thing - one of the first tests I took (a week or so before I got the positive result) it was supposed to have two vertical lines if it was positive - there appeared to be only one, but I *knew* I was pregnant and figured I'd tested too soon. So like a mad women, lol, I took the test apart, don't know what I expected to find, but I did find something - exhibit A:
There was this weird second line....? it was off to the left of where the real second line should have been. made no sense.
later I took another test, it had the normal 2 lines and was positive - I took it apart to see if it matched the first one I took, but there was no "extra" line like there had been on the first...
And the few subsequent tests I've taken, none have had that extra line. Well, I've since had a miscarriage, and I took another test today just to see if I would still test positive or not, this time using a different test, one that shows the plus or negative sign - the plus line is extremely faint so I feel much better now to know my levels are indeed dropping and things are getting back to normal. However, I felt the nagging suspicion to open the test again - even though it was by a different brand - and this time there was that extra line again.... off to the left of the horizontal line...
So I'm wondering, as anyone ever had this same experience, and if so what on earth is the purpose of that extra line since it didn't show up on the other two that tested positive nor one that tested negative?
is there any chance you pulled back that white tab part where the mystery blue line is? I have seen that before (pulled one apart last month lol...) where the dye kind of lingers over to that side where it could build up against that part of the paper and cause a small thin line.
hope this helps
hm maybe the dye seemed to get darker the longer it sat. like there hadn't been anything there at first and then it just appeared lol just seems weird it didn't do that on the other tests. it's not along a part where anything could've built up, it is under that white flap thingy, but like in the middle of it so I wouldn't think it could gather in a straight line. i dunno, hard to explain lol but you're probably right
