Boy I wish I found this forum earlier but here we go!
I took a Walmart blue dye pregnancy test this evening. I thought I could see a faint line but my hubby said he couldn't see anything. I held it up to the light and thought "Hmm guess not". Walked away and came back after the testing time frame (over an hour) and there is a bright, thin blue line.
After reading a number of threads on here about blue dye tests, it sounds like this is most likely an evaporation line. I didn't know evaporation lines could have color to them so my hubby and I got excited thinking we had a BFP. We went out and bought a FRER to test again tomorrow using FMU. Really hoping it's positive but not sure.
Oh man. I so don't want to bring your hopes down at all but I am leaning towards an evap line. I really really hope it's a bfp and you get a nice bfp tomorrow on the FRER test though! Normally the line is thick like the control line on blue tests for it to be positive. There might be cases out there, like Andrea mentioned, where they've had thin lines and it was bfp too. I'm not sure.
Sorry hun. If the line showed up after an hour, then it's DEFINITELY an evap. ALL blue dye tests will show some sort of line after they dry [which is why most woman don't rely on them for accurate results]
The line is also way too thin. A true positive on a blue dye test will be as thick as the control line and centered.
I'd call the company on the box and complain, they'll send you some free tests.
Wow - I didn't realize that a line that dark (from a blue dye test) could be considered an evap. If I had taken that test, I would have run out and bought a crib!! Ok, maybe not, but I never would have questioned it!
Hopefully, this truly is your BFP, as it certainly looks like it to me, but again, I have no experience with those tests, whereas a lot of women on here do.
((HUGS)) and FX crossed for you! Keep us updated!!
blue dye tests should be banned or the compmany needs to be sued its so well out of order playing on ladies minds who desperatly want a child and to think they charge thru the roof for these tests aswell should be against the law makes my blood boil sorry ladies for the rant just upsetting that this company who makes these tests are getting away with it.xxxx.
