Good evening ladies! You probably have heard a lot about false positives. Well I decided to do a little test. Dh is a coke drinker, so I took the plunge, and asked him for a little to dip hpt's...I was amazed and scared at the same time. Take a look... I don't know how much it takes to do cause a false positive hpt. But these were dipped full strength in each liquid. The coffee was black no sugar or cream. And is the only one that didn't turn positive..much less positive immediately!! So coffee seems to be safe for not causing false positives. And of course the only coffee safe to drink while preggo is decaf (I know). However that coffee is not decaf (and was room temp when dipped) my hpt is at the bottom (I'm only 4dpo and it's negative of course). I guess we all should beware and drink clear liquids or better yet, Water in the 2ww (excluding apple juice as an appropriate clear liquid). I heard apple juice does the same thing. Will be testing that theory tomorrow....  Hope you ladies found this to be informative...  stay tuned...Apple juice tomorrow!! |

Isn't it though?! I like Dr. Pepper a lot, but I don't drink it all day. If I have a can I usually sip it throughout the day. I can't even finish it...So I end up throwing it out before bed. what's crazy about it is how dark the coke test is!! I honestly didn't expect it to be that dark! my husband looked at it and all he could manage to say was..WOW! | |

Heck..I guess scrutinizing over hpt's might be out this cycle...I think since I chart I may just wait until I have 18 high temps and know that my LP length is over..How can a girl take her hpt seriously after finding this out? (sighs)

OUCH I never knew that but can say i dont drink soda unless i need to burp due to indigestion I sometimes get like once every month or so and when i do its gingerale.But this is scary and NOT to judge BUT if ladies who are TTC drink THAT much soda then thats NOT good  | |
