breast pump to induce labour question

How long would I need to do it for? And woud I be wasting the babys colostrum?! Or would my body keep producing it?

I've been told to do this by my midwife but I thought the same. I've bought some storage bags to freeze what I get off but I keep wondering if my baby Will then miss out on the colostrum from me?

Oh I don't know what to do !

Stalking this threaddd..

Although I *think* the body will keep producing it and it won't turn to actual milk until baby's ready for it? Don't take my word for it though.

As far as I was told (and have heard), the colostrum production doesn't stop until baby is ready for the new type of milk. I am not sure if this is due to pheromones, proteins released after delivery or some other factor.

So, in that case, it will keep being produced. I asked about storing it for the hospital if I decide to try pumping to induce labor. This seemed to be okay.

Also your body wont produce milk, until after the placenta is detatched... and how would it be any more dangerous than your husband playing with your nipples during sex? LOL
