Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?
I am getting paranoid that my bump is "too small" -- I can still put on a hoodie & it's like "Baby-B-Gone" and I'm not even pregnant... and when I tell people how far along I am they do a double take, stare at my tummy & their eyes get REALLY big and then they shake their heads and say "You've gotta be kidding me."
I'll take a pic and upload it tonight but it seems I've got the pregnancy plagued with perpetual "Bump envy" ??? The fact that people still have to be TOLD that I'm pregnant is ridiculous. The lady I bought cloth diapers from yesterday asked me if I'd already had the baby.
I know that "typically" women are "smaller" with their first baby ...is it weird that I'm feeling 'eager' to have a second, just so I can have a "proper" bump and actually look pregnant?
I'm 31 wks - same thing...everyone says I look like I'm just at the beginning and can't believe it when I tell them I'm due in July. I was told today that I look like a pencil still. Most people just say my bump is tiny. It doesn't bother me too much - I'm a tall person, I stand with good posture, I think my abs are relatively strong. I've only put on 12 pounds. If I wear something baggy no one who didn't know I am pregnant would be able to tell at all... even with tight tops people don't necessarily notice.
Try not to worry! I saw pictures of my mom when she was 8 months pregnant, and she didn't really look pregnant at all. She put on 15 lbs the entire pregnancy and had next to no bump at all. I was born 2 weeks late at 6lbs 13oz and perfectly healthy. She never had any other children, so I've no idea how differently she would have carried if she had, but everyone is different.
Just let people's comments roll of your back. Strangers are going to continue commenting on just about everything you do once that baby is born, anyway. Might as well get used to ignoring ignorant comments ahead of time.
I did a huuuge amount of growing from 32ish weeks, I was always measuring 1cm ahead, by the end of 32 weeks I was measuring 3cm ahead then 4cm by 35 weeks and 5cm by 37 weeks! I'm sure you'll do some growing soon! Plus big bumps are a pain in the ass!
Hun I'm the exact same, I get comments of how my bump looks about 6 months, rather than 8. People look at me like I am lying if I say I'm 33wks.
I've noticed bumps seem to be turned into a competition, and tbh I'm happy I'm smaller as I'm small anyways and this bump on my back is killing me as it is lol.
Don't worry about what others say, I used to think I'd get a bump this size at 28wks, but soon learnt I had no bump until 28wks, and have doubled in size in the last month, each bump is unique to the bump holder
Don't worry hun...you probably have a longer torso and hide it a little better than someone like me where I just go straight out! Lol!! I was MUCH bigger in my 1st pregnancy, than this one!! Every pregnancy is soooo different. Just cause you carry small doesn't mean it affects the health of baby or anything!! Enjoy and take pride in knowing that when you have your baby, you will pop back into shape quick!!!
