Do your ribs expand or am I just fat?

Hiya ladies,

Just tried a jacket on which used to be lose on me and althought I knew it wouldnt button up I thought I could at least wear it to cover my arms.

well the short answer to that is NO!!!

It was too small!

I knew i'd gained but not that much... it was soooo tight so across my back i must have gained at least 1 if not 2 dress sizes!!!

im gutted!!! I feel so broad and FAT now...

sooooooooooooo am I just a little porker now or so you ribs expand (i know i now a naive question!!! lol)

xxx

You're ribs expand to hold your uterus and your organs that are moved. It goes back to normal within a couple months apparently. My bras from ore pregnancy wouldn't fit if I tried.

I'm hoping so, coz I have a few jackets that won't fit on not even over my back like u said. I've brought some really cheap cardigans and very cheap extra large normal non maternity jackets to help out. maybe u could do that? at least u will be able to wear non maternity nes for a bit longer afterwards.or borrow mens hoodies? Which are really comfy. actually I just remembered ur ribs do expand a bit, I've found that out in a baby book I have.

With my first I went from a 32 back (am talking bra sizes here) to a 36 back (and they got tight).

I went back down to a 32 back (my cup sizes changed as i was breast feeding but in pregnancy my cup size didnt change that much).

I cant tell you what mind is at the moment as i am reusing the bras and havent officially been measured but i am wearing the 36 ones and sometimes they feel tight.

I haven't really noticed my body expanding except for my stomach...but my clothes beg to differ. Baggy tops are not only hanging differently round the abdomen (obviously!) but they rest much higher up on my chest as it has expanded so much- not just my boobs but the whole thing! It seems really obvious that it would happen but I just never considered it and I've been really surprised.

(Plus, don't get me started on my thighs...I tried to put a pair of jeans on thinking I'll just wear them unbuttoned round the house for a bit (as I was still carrying high) and I couldn't even get them past my knees...)
