Fheal pessary white oval shaped tablets

Hi All,

I am new to this site. I am 29 yrs old and in my 34th week of pregnancy now, today I have been to the Dr. for routine checkup. She has prescribed a medicine Fheal Pessary tablets (which are white waxy and oval in shape). and have asked me to insert it in the vagina for next 6 nights. Most probably I am going to have a normal delivery as what she says. My question is why am I suggested to have these tablets when I dont have any irritation/ vaginal thrush? (as what I could read from the websites these tablets are used to treat). Neither I have High BP/Diabetes.

Thanks in advance.

Kind Regards,
Ashley

My midwife said it looked like I had a yeast infection yesterday and I didn't have any symptoms like itching/burning either. Did she check you and see more discharge than normal or something?

No she didnt even looked at that part of the body, she just pressed that area hard through my pajama. Today I called her to ask why she has given me these pessaries, she replied since I am going to have normal delivery so in order to avoid any infection to the baby , when he/she will pass through that region, she has prescribed them.

I am still looking over the internet if there are any sideeffects or if its harmful for the baby
