chest pains ??

I did a post earlier today about my ds and dd picking up hand, foot and mouth disease from nursery (altho it only appears to be my DD with the rash on her feet) and was it a problem in pregnancy.

Well since then hubby and i went out and i started to get pains in my chest, which is like tightening on the front and my back and i feel a little breathless with it. I am wondering if it is to do with the HF&MD or if its something more serious or nothing at all. We ended up coming home an hour or so after as it was starting to concern us both. But after trying to get hold of our doctors(which was closed), the community midwife (phone off) and the hospital traige dept (who never answered the phone over several attempts) i gave up and just went to bed, leaving hubby still concerned. And i thought i felt somewhat better when i woke up, but now i have the pains and breathlessness again!!

What should i do? shall i just leave it and try the doctors in the morning? Im really confused and dont exactly want to waste someones time if its nothing.

Sorry your feeling this way! Chest pain should never be ignored, Give NHS direct a call but I they'll likely tell you to go up to a&e. I don't think chest pain is related to hf&m but none the less you have to get it checked out. It could just be baby pushing on your chest but best to get it checked xx

I agree with PP chest pain should never be ignored i would go to the walk in clinic or if its closed go to a&e you need to get this checked out asap

Pregnancy can cause certain kinds of pain in your chest but still shouldnt be ignored you chould get checked out hun especially if its as bad as your saying

thanks for the replies ladies.

I finally got to speak to a midwife last night and she told me to go to a&e to be seen. A&E was very busy(3 to 4 hr waiting time) but i got seen pretty quick. They put me on a ECG machine to check my heart and did other obs, which thank goodness was all normal. I then had to wait another hour before being seen by a dr, who listened to my chest and then told me they needed to do some bloods, just to rule out anything serious with my lungs. But it had to be blood from an artery! which was really painful and took 3 attempts and took at least an hour! But luckily this also came back fine. The dr told me chances are what im experiencing is the stresses of pregnancy. I'm just glad everything is ok as i was really starting to worry.
x
