Dunelm Mill nursery bedding recall

I couldn't see this posted so I thought I'd stick it up as I know other people have bought bits for Dunelm as I chose my set after seeing someone post it on here!

Dunelm have recalled what looks like all their ranges of cot bumpers and filled cot quilts sold between Jan 2009-aug 2012. Obviously this could affect some of you second time mummies who could already be using these things as well as new mummies to be. There is a full list of ranges on the link below. Just wanted to get the word out for anyone who didn't know. Love to you all.

Me too, guess it's something to do with a fire risk on the filling?nLoved that Sleepy Owl stuff, gutted. I don't have the receipt, guess it doesn't matter?

I have the sleepy owl too, I was lucky my sister in law knew and rang me up when she saw it in the paper otherwise I wouldn't have found out. I'm guessing it's a safety issue with the stuffing as both these products are stuffed so probably either it's been shown to be toxic or not fire resistant??

Sad times and back to the drawing board... For stuff which will semi match all the other owl bits I have!! Grrr

I took mine out if the packaging and threw it all away about a week ago so i could deess the cot but I don't think it'll matter, the people who bought theirs in 2009 surely won't be able to provide a receipt? As it's a safety problem I think they have to take it back regardless!?

Aw what a shame you deffo won't need a recipt though because of it being recalled by the shop, it's not you choosing to take it back as such!xx

i've actually been in dunelm today - i should of noticed a sign but of course i didn't, i did notice though that they had a fully stocked shelf of sleepy owl range so when i take my stuff back tomorrow ( minus receipt and packaging ) i'll ask if i can swap rather than get a refund. xxx

I originally bought the sleepy owl stuff but took it back after changing my mind (C_baby, I'm wondering if it was mine you saw on here as I posted a thread about it and think I can maybe remember you commenting?!)

I ended up getting the funky friends set from kiddicare as I preferred the colours of it and it still went ok with my theme (it has owls on, but also other bright coloured animals)

Depending on how you've done your room, maybe this would be an option? I paid 20 for the quilt and bumper. Here's a couple of pictures so you can see the bedding and how the room is decorated (excuse the poor lighting) xx

Love that room, we have gone for an owl/ bird theme too- all this owly stuff is super cute!! i went into dunelm and took the bumper and filled quilt back - apparently there was an issue with the stitching?? i don't know how much truth is in that, any way i bought a cot quilt and the cot sheet in the sleepy owl range which i actually prefer, the bumpers will be back in stock in a few weeks so i don't mind waiting as little Miss Robey - Jennings will be in her crib in our room for a while.

thought id show you my nursery - do you think i need more pink?? i'm having a girl and several people have commented on the lack of pink i have but i don't feel like just because i'm having a girl my house needs to be full of that colour...

If you like the sleepy owl stuff then you might like the olive and Henri (or it might be Henri and olive!) from babies r us...that's the one we have and they're kinda similar. Maybe a little more expensive though as I know dunelm is more reasonably priced than babies r us but thought I would share

Xx
