35 weeks- contractions

Last night I ended up in labor and delivery with very painful contractions, 2 minutes apart. They started around 1:00, progressivelyl got worse. I ended up heading to the hospital at 11:00pm.
My regular doc told me that the next time these contractions started again and they didn't stop on their own, she was going to have me set for my csection. however, the hospital checked my cervix and I wasn't dialated, so they gave me a shot of morphine and fentolyn. I was so drugged it was aweful. All the meds wore off about 6 hours later and the contractions stopped.
I don't want to have this baby earlier, but now the contractions are starting back up again. They all start about 1 and hour and now I am up to two an hour.
Has anyone had this similar experience? I am finding that as much as I contract (very painful ones), that my cervix doesn't dialate!

If you are not dilating it does sound a bit more like braxton hicks.
Im sorry I havent had a similar experience, maybe try having a relaxing bath. I know people say to have a bath when in labour to help with the pain but I am pretty sure it stops contractions! Last time I thought I was having contractions, as soon as I got in a nice warm bath they stopped.
xxx

Braxton hicks hurt me whereas real contractions don't. If you can get hold of some Epsom salts (magnesium sulphate) and dissolve 1/2 to 1 cup of that in a warm bath it should settle any type of contraction. You can buy it OTC or online over here. Also try get hold of a magnesium supplement as that will settle things too.

awww...thanks ladies! I've tried everything when these buggers come on. When I go to the hospital they tell me they are real contractions b/c of how high the monitor goes. It's sooo painful. When I get the braxton hicks they are just uncomfortable.
The next time they come on, I'm not going to the hospital! Im going to take tyenol and try to ride them out- in hopes that one- my water breaks or two- I dialate! I don't want any more drugs. The morphine they gave me was aweful! I'm always so afraid those meds are going to the baby.
Hopefully I won't get these contractions again for another 2 weeks!!

I am having the same thing at 33 weeks. My doctor has me on meds to stop the contractions because he said even though i'm not dilating right now that eventually they will. He also already gave me the steroid shots to mature the babies lungs just in case. I only have to take the meds till 35 weeks then if she wants to come they aren't stopping it since her lungs will be mature enough with the shots. Nothing you do will stop them from what i'm experiencing and the doctor is telling me, mine were 3-5 minutes apart and almost to the top of the monitor when I went in sunday morning so I feel your pain. Hopefully not much longer and our babes will be here and this will be a good story to tell them when they are teenagers and mouthing off lol

I'm so glad that I'm not the only one going through this. I thought for sure when I was in the hospital 2 days ago that they would of delivered me right then and there. But, since I'm not dialating they wouldn't do it. I'm eager to hear how things go for you!
