Baby is viable at 24 weeks hon so you are passed that stage already. % wise it is quite high (off top of my head 70%-90% according to my books) so don't worry too much. Hang on in there baby may prove doctors wrong and stay full term. Good luck hon xxx
Babies born around 27 to 28 weeks have about 80% chance of surviving with excellent medical care. It's very likely your baby will be small and need help with maintaining breathing and feedings, etc and would spend weeks in the NICU you..but they usually are surprising strong little fighters!
How come you may go early if you don't mind me asking? My doctors said the same to me and we never thought i'd get this far..but i'm still cooking bubs along...so don't give up. Also have you gotten steroid injections for babies lungs...those are a huge help to premature babies. Good luck and keep us posted.xx
I've had two preemies. First born was at 34 weeks, spent 2 weeks in the NICU and second baby was born at 30 weeks and spent 6wks in the NICU...both healthy little boys now! HUGS.
MW's have said i will probably only go another 6 weeks as he is low and i keep getting the lower abdo pain. i have been concernedbut put it to the back of my mind and just think that every day he stays put is better for us both.
however when walking it does feel like i have a ball between my legs! (hes not on way out yet i checked! (sorry TMI))
