14 hours of contractions and still at home ...

OMG ... does this never end??!! Now I know why it is called Labour!

I have been having contractions for 14 hours now. Had my show. They are between 4-8 mins apart and bloody hurt - lasting 1 min each.

Phoned hospital about 6 or 7 hours ago and they said not to come in until it is excruciating pain or waters have broken.

Question: How can I speed this thing up? How can I get my waters to break??

Has anyone had experience of this and what happened with them? How did the labour progress?

Wish I knew...but I can't help. Just wanted to say good luck! What about using a birthing ball? Do you have one at home?

Thanks ...

Yes, have birthing ball, but it's not really doing much ... still bouncing around on it ... walking the dog (he thinks its Christmas!!) and walking around home. Trying to keep active to try and shift things along!

hot bath. if the contractions are only 1min apart i'd go to ospital and tell them you cant take the pain and want help! (cry if you have to).

OH just said ring 999 and get an ambulance - if contractions are less than 2mins apart they will get you tthere asap cos if your waters go in ambulance or you give birth in it they have to do a full 4hr clean down of ambulance and get new uniforms etc. (he used to work for nhs ambulances!)

I bounced on my ball, it took about 2 hours but my waters broke, this was after 45 hours of contractions though!
