Curious- ftm celebrating mothers day or not?

Just wondering what were peoples thoughts? It seems some people are divided on wether if you are a ftm with baby on the way but not actually here yet you should get to celebrate mothers day.

Personally I think I've been through tonnes already to get baby to this stage and I am now a mum!! So I shouldn't have to wait until next year. What do you think?

I think if you want to celebrate it you can, technically you're a mummy afteral! I don't think my OH has got me anything, but we have got antenatal classes, so I'm classing that as my little present there are cards and things that say 'from the bump' on, i'm sure you could make a few last min hints

Completely up to you. I've got a son and another on the way but not celebrating. I'm not one for all these days like valentines, mothers day ect. I hate that the price is up on everything and its only one day but that's just me. I think you are a mother already so go for it if you like

I didn't as I wanted my first mothers day to be with my baby there, but I think if ladies want to its fair enough- you have a baby its just snuggled up inside at the moment!

I won't be! I'm due in the next 2/3 weeks too but I'm just not bothered by it all and with no baby here it seems a bit pointless to me!

i think definitely celebrate!! its hard work growing a baby! all women deserve to celebrate mothers day in my opinion whether it be they are pregnant, had a baby,or have lost a baby you are still a mom regardless.

If my baby is not yet born I will be. I believe it's a baby in there, so that makes me a mommy!

Baby is due the day before Mother's day though, so I may actually have baby by then! It would be totally awesome if baby was born ON Mother's day!

It will be a tough one for us this year, my Mom passed away in June of last year, so it will be kind of hard. Being able to celebrate the new baby will be helpful, whether the baby is inside or outside the womb.

I agree with that!!!! Not sure if dh will do anything but it's nice to think he might

I also think it will be nicer next year when baby is here but it'll be nice to have a day where we can celebrate me being pregnant together It's felt a bit hard to do that up until now as we still have so many friends who are still ltttc.

I've not mentioned it but I'd be absolutely thrilled if my husband got me a Mother's Day card from the bump. I think men's minds work a bit differently from ladies though, so I don't think he will, and won't get upset if he doesn't.

Lookin forward to next year though.

When is Mother's Day in the UK? It's always the second Sunday in May here in Canada.
