Is being "lazy"the reason I'm not dilating?

Now, I know it sounds silly but hear me out.

I worked up until 37 weeks. At my 36 week appointment, I was a cm dialated. At 37, I was 2cm and have stayed that way since (last appt was yesterday). Up until 37 weeks, I was on my normal schedule of working, walking the dog, grocery shopping, running errands, chores around the house, etc.

Once I started leave, I became lazy, but this was also due to me being very tired and sore, which I still am.

So you think since I've been resting alot, my body's doing less, if that makes sense? Or is it just coincidence?

Edit: this week I have tried a lot of the "eviction" techniques, with no luck, but still plan on walking more.

Hmmm I doubt it has a ton to do with it, but it could I guess... Walking and being really active certainly does make baby put more pressure on the cervix, so maybe try taking a couple short walks a day I have been taking a two 1 mile walks the past few days. Once I hit 37 weeks tomorrow I will start upping the mileage on my walks! With my dd I walked 4.5 miles in the evening and my water broke at 5 am..maybe had something to do with it?

I've been lazy too... it's hard to make myself do something that could cause pain.

Yeah I'm gonna try to do some cleaning or something today... I'm still losing a lot of mucus - it's all pink too so I guess that's a good thing? Though it could be from the internal check on Monday... I've had some bad lower back ache but that's about it today...

I'm on the lazy train as well! I swell a lot when I do to much and I need to start pushing through that! I'm going to walk tonight for sure! On a brighter note, tomorrow night is the harvest moon.... So just maybe it could happen!

I dont think you should be too worried about pushing yourself to do more, if you feel tired you should rest. If its not comfortable to go walking etc then dont do too much. Its not unusual at all to not be any more dilated than you are at this stage. I was not dilated at all when i had a sweep on my last preg, but my waters still broke that night followed by labour and birth the next day.

I am kinda glad that they don't check your cervix here in wales until after 40 weeks as I am sure it can cause unnecessary worrying, but 2 cms sounds petty good to me, as at 3 you are classed as in labour x

ummm, i am the laziest pregnant woman i know, i dont exercise, dont go for walks n spend most my time sleeping! like you i went from 1 1/2 to 2 cm in a week.. i will see if i progressed any on fri at my 38 week exam! lol, i dont think laziness has much to do with it though.. with my son i was stuck at two cm and 60% effaced forever and i walked, hiked worked until 39 weeks and lots of sex, lol.. with her i dont do half that..lol ok, 90% of that and i am progressing more than i did with him
