Whooping cough jab-ridiculously painful arm affecting sleep :-(

Hi,

I had my flu and whooping cough vaccines yesterday in seperate arms. The flu jab arm is a bit sore but just the standard really but my left arm (which is the only side I can sleep on!!) is absolutely killing! Ive neber had such a painful arm following a jab before. Has anyone else found this?

It is too tender to touch and hurts to lift or move.
I was tossing and turning all night long and feel like a zombie today not good at 38 weeks with a 22 month old to entertain too.

Is there anything I can do to ease it or help it heal?

I wish the nurse had asked which side I slept on or something!

Thanks. I was going to try some frozen peas but then read about using a hot compress so ive got a hot water bottle on it at the moment. Cold seemed to make more sense to me too but I'll try anything! Good to know yours only lasted a couple of days.

Yeah normal, I had a sore arm after it that went away after a few days but then after a few days it came back and was so sore and the redness had got a lot bigger. I put a warm compress on which did help and after about 4 days it started to get a bit better, its mostly gone now and the soreness disappeared.

I'm like you and find that im most comfy on left side, I found lying diagonal towards the left was most comfy for me when going to sleep xx

Thanks everyone. For some reason I get really out of breath if I lie on my right side for too long? A bit like the sensation when youre preggers and lie on your back for a while. Anyway, its still painful but im hoping the sheer tiredness will take over tonight!
