Need Some Advice....

Hi, I'm a 1st time mom, and I am 27 weeks along. I hit my 27 week mark yesterday. I have a few questions, because my doctor's (military hospital) keep saying "I'm fine." and I don't feel fine. I have been going in for the past 6 or 7 weeks now for lots of problems. I was underweight when I started my pregnancy as well. (Just a side note^^) I have had severe ligament pain ( to the point it was hard to move) I have an inflammed sternum, I've gone through UTI's and the like, and they've put me on vicodin for the pain and whatnot, and they keep saying I'm fine. I didn't feel fine, at all. Until this morning. Last night, My stomach tightened hard on and off for about an hour. It then suddenly stopped, and I started to go into the bathroom w/ diarrhea (which is still continuing) and frequent urges for my bladder. Strange thing was, one time it was urine, then one time I couldn't control it and it came out clear. Now, I live alone, and I have no family near me, save my grandparents who live 9 miles away. I've been to the ER several times, and sent home being told I'm fine. I went back in today, I was having contractions off and on, and my belly has "dropped" (me being as tiny as I am it was noticable),and I've had pressure on my lower stomach all day long, not to mention back pain. The baby has also moved down to the lowest part of my belly. Funny thing is, I can breathe again, I have had more energy (I've been restless for the past 5 weeks, and my sleeping hasn't changed) and I feel better than I have in weeks. But when I went into the doctor, and she examined me, she told me I was fine yet again. She said from what she could feel there was no need to check for risk of preterm labor. I'm scared, for my baby, and that I might have to go through labor alone because my husband is gone. I could really use some advice here, please. I really don't know what to do. Thank you.

perhaps finding another doctor for a second opinion? are you U.S. military? a lot of military medical facilities get backed up in appointments and such because of their size and how busy they are. My base MTF wont even see me (as a dependent) unless i schedule an appointment because they have a active duty come first policy and are so backed up. Of course not getting the answers you are looking for can happen anywhere, as not all doctors are the same...some may be more helpful than others. If you're not getting the answers you want though, my only suggestion would be to seek a second opinion. If you're stateside, you can look for hospitals that accept tri-care (or if you have other insurance policies).

i'm sorry i can't help you figure out what is causing your discomfort and issues i do hope you feel better soon, though. if you need a chat, i'm just another military spouse, feel free to PM me though.

I'm an Active U.S. Army wife. I live in North Pole, out away from main civilization, and I can't drive either. My grandparents are my main transport, and they haven't been as reliable lately, because their health is worsening...so I'm kinda having to deal with it, for lack of a better term.

Hi Honey!

#1 - OMG! YAY!! Another Alaskan but I am in South Central!

#2 - I am sorry for all the trouble that you are having with the doctors.
I second Samo about getting a second opinion. Is there any way you can take a cab to an appointment? (I know they are pricey but...)

Good luck and keep us updated!

Sarah
