They checked me every week starting from 37 weeks. I know other people who also got checked at 37 weeks and they all live in different states.

With DS, I got checked the first time at 36 weeks when the dr did my Group B strep swab. I was supposed to get checked again at my next appt but didn't make it since DS decided to make his appearance the day before that appt. With DD, the dr checked me again at 36 wks after doing my swab but didn't check me at 37 because 'she didn't want to stir the pot'. Didn't understand it since she had checked me just 8 days prior and wasn't worried about triggering anything. In the end, not checking me didn't do a thing because I had DD 2 days after that appt. I'm guessing I'll be checked weekly after 36 weeks with this one but not sure if it'll tell us anything as I don't dilate beyond a 1cm before I start labor anyway.

If you have an OB they'll generally start checking at 36-37 weeks when they do your group b strep test. If you have a midwife they may not check you until your due date if at all.
