Hope things are progressing better for you. Just wondering whether your other half has been allowed to stay for the duration? Just as we're both delivering in the same hospital and both consultant led I'm guessing *if* I get induced I will be delivering in the same place.

My friend delivered there yesterday and her boyfriend wasn't allowed to stay until she was in established labour, then had to leave mum and baby over night as she had to stay on a ward. Very different from my first experience! I had a double room downstairs on MLU and hubby was allowed to stay right from when we turned up at the hospital until when we left

Mrsmmummy2, I think that's awful that the labor partner can't stay by the mother's side until she's in established labor!!! Moms need support, and access to it at all times!

I love these real-time updates! Can't wait until things really pick up! Best of luck!

Awful isn't it! I can't imagine my hubby not being there. I mean what if things progress really quick and they miss it?! My hubby doesn't drive, so even though we don't live that far away from the hospital it's not easy for him to just pop back and forth whenever. I can't imagine being left alone. Midwife in room or not... No one really knows their midwife (or at least I've never met who will actually deliver baby) So I can imagine it being quite awkward! My midwife with my first was fab, but I'm giving birth on a different unit this time, so no chance of getting her. I thought birth was meant to be made a stress-free environment for mum and baby?! I'd be stressed out to the hills if hubby is told to leave!

Hi all . Well still here! My DH hasn't left my side! I have no idea why they made her partner leave, they've been more than happy to let Chris stay .

Pessary did pretty much nothing, when checked I was 1cm and they thought they might be able to break waters. Supposedly I'm waiting for a bed on delivery suite but that make take forever.

For the examination I couldn't relax properly so they have me gas and air. Never had it when not in agony before. I was a giggling puddle. Very much recommend .

On the bright side I am having quite ouchy contractions every 5 mins or so lasting 40secs. Trying to beat them to it! I am not having a drip or another section! I will have my water birth!! Rarr!! Xx

Good luck hopefully things start to happen soon.

When I was induced with DD they tried to send my DH home but they examined me and I was only 3cm but because I had a fast labour with my DS they let him stay. But after DD was born instead of just sending him home they let me go home as well. DD was born at 4:46pm and I was home about 11pm x

There were 9 women in the induction unit this evening. There are now 3. 6 women have left (yelling rather a lot) to have their babies overnight. 6! Me? My contractions died away and here I still am. Whoop de ******* doo

Also I was so convinced nothing would happen I sent DH home to get some decent sleep. While he was allowed to stay there is really nowhere comfy for him. Couldn't share with me, too fidgety. X
