High blood pressure in umbilical cord

When I went in for my ultrasound this past Monday, they told me that baby's abdominal circumference was low, and she's only in the 25th percentile for weight. When they checked the blood flow through the cord, they said the blood pressure was high and she may be having trouble getting nutrients. They didn't tell me why this could be though, does anyone know any possible causes?

I feel terrible because I have only gained about 6 lbs. this whole pregnancy, and over half of that is the baby herself. Have I been starving her?!? Is there anything I can do to help her grow? I've been trying to eat as many nutrient-loaded foods as I can, but it's difficult to eat much since there's not much room left. Would that even make a difference anyway? I'm at a loss, worried about my little girl.

I had this with Evie, she was diagnosed with IUGR (intra uterine growth restriction). She was lower than the 25th centile (I think she was on the 5th!?), anyway they gave me steroids to mature her lungs incase they had to deliver her early. They will keep an eye on you now hun, probably give you weekly or fortnightly scans and monitor you more regularly, as thats what they did with me. Evie decided to come early by herself and arrived exactly on 34 weeks weighing 3lb 12ozs. She was fine, just needed to spend a couple of weeks in NUCI and SCBU. Oh and you musnt blame yourself, theres nothing that you have or havent done, its the placenta! . xx

Thanks so much for the reassurance, and I'm glad your little girl was okay.
