im giving birth alone cause i have to (the rules in the hospital here) tbh i hate the idea of it and wish so much that i did not have to do it by myself. The thing that scares me most about giving birth is being by myself when i do it so if i had the chance to have someone there i would def take it!

My husband travels for business alot so we are hoping I go into labour while he is home or close to home. If he is away I plan to give birth alone. I have two wonderful MW's that are a great support. My father lives close by so he is going to be my driver but he will wait "outside"..lol.

Gosh you are brave this is my worst fear about birth, but totally alone, not making it to the hospital on time and being on my own at home when he comes!

i really wouldnt worry abut your mum seeing anything down there as she wont get an eyeful of 'bits' unless she actually stands at the bottome of the bed bedise whoever is delivering the baby - most birthing partners stay up top with the lady in labour and only look if asked/offered when head is crowning etc

on the other hand i had leah on my own coz i got mightly pissed off with people coming in and out of the room and told them to leave the fucking door shut - unfortunately my birth partner was at the other sdie of it lol

how will your mum feel about you not having her there?

you will be fine if you decide to give birth alone - partners arent actually that useful during the late stage sof labour anyway as your body is very engrossed in what it is doing

having attended a birth and had babies, i wld say there is no way the person with you is NOT going to see anything. If you dont want someone to see anything you cant have them there. Its just not possible and its human nature that a strak naked woman screaming and pushing, youre gonna look down the bed, even if not on purpose, and accidentally see something .

Im sooo glad my mother there with me, she was my rock! She was fantastic helped me through it, couldnt done it with her FOB werent there.
