I really struggled to come up with a nursery theme as I'm also not a fan of character, cartoon, truck bedding etc.

I have a massive thing for stars and stripes so that's what I went with. We went through quite a journey to conceive our son and he really is our shining star, so a star theme seemed quite apt.

I can't figure out how to add more than one photo at a time on my phone, so I'll add some below.

That's looking great! I'm also not a fan of cartoon or too baby ish nurseries. How far along are you?

So far I've had a blue and white striped wall painted and brought some furnishings. Hopefully in the next week or so I'll try put it all together!!

A little late to this thread, but I didn't have much of a theme to begin with, just things I liked and the walls were already blue (not the best blue though, wish I could've changed it). I started with furniture and then found things I liked here and there and I guess it's sort of a travel theme? I found a Sadie and scout sheet I liked with a map design but really subtle, and I wanted to do a map on the wall with pins for where me, his dad, and him have all travelled. Before I got too into the nursery I'd come across metal motorcycles, cars, and planes from winners and marshalls that I liked (and his grandpa is verrrry into cars and motorcycles) so I knew I wanted to incorporate that as well. So out came a grey, blue, brown, and white nursery with silver accents and a subtle travel/transportation theme.

Lol we just decided last week that we would do the nautical theme, with anchors and sailboats and the like. We know we're having a boy, so it's not going to be gender neutral as it will have his name displayed somewhere, but I think nautical is pretty gender neutral as it is.

SpringCrane - that sounds wonderful! My husband is REALLY into maps, too - I had been considering incorporating that into the room! Thank you for sharing!
