Emmy, it looks like it's coming together so nicely! I saw that map sheet you're talking about - it's very cute!

If I was having another boy I was going to do antique airplanes. But I'm having a girl so will probably do a boho/whimsical theme

hellojello, I think I was unclear - we're keeping the wall color gender-neutral, because if we have any more babies in the future, we don't want to have to paint the nursery over and over again. The bedding/decor will be gender specific. But thank you for your input!!!

I keep going back and forth... travel/adventure theme, storybook theme, nautical theme... every time I think I've made up my mind, I go and change it again. And every time I sway away from the nautical theme, I feel guilty because my coworker is making me a nautical themed quilt

jtink, thanks for the photos! Very cute! planes/trains/automobiles are the first thing I think of when I think of little boys; I just haven't found a "set" that I like in that theme. Those pics show some great ideas!

Sara, I adore your idea!!!!! I'm an elementary school teacher & bookworm myself. I just might have to look into doing something similar... if you don't mind a copycat, of course! That way, I can still do bedding in shades of blue, but then I can add storybook elements. Thank you so much for sharing! I'd love to see pics if you have any to share along the way
oh please do!! I have a pinterest account with all of my inspiration on it. I am starting my quotes on canvas tomorrow afternoon just as soon as I can find a brush that won't let the stencil letters bleed onto the canvas. I have ordered the pieces for my book lamp, basically a bunch of cheap books i'm painting and then my husband is drilling holes in the center so that I can put a lamp kit through it and then designing a lamp shade not sure what just yet, the signpost my husband will do just as soon as he is done building the cradle, The mobile I have the keys to but I haven't made them just yet. I have the mauraders map from harry potter coming in the mail that I'm going to put in a frame, also pooh corners, treasure Island and Neverland so one wall will be a collage of maps, one wall literary quotes with different pieces thrown around. My mom is making my baby bedding and it's going to be polka dots and stripes. and then my husband is going to put build in book cases that allow you to display all of the covers of books. and boy, does he have a nice library started!!

We're going with a space themed nursery. Walls will be a gender neutral grey colour with navy and orange accent colours. Before we found out the sex of the baby I'd already decided that I was doing something with grey and navy... it was just a matter of deciding if the third colour would be orange or pink.

I want to avoid overly baby-ish or cartoon-ish accents, so it'll mostly be a few planets and stars. Something simple that can grow with baby as needed.

Sara, that really sounds magical!!! Very awesome! Please share pics (if you can) as you go along! Actually, would you be comfortable with me checking out your board? I go on Pinterest, but I'm not very savvy with it... not sure how I'd even go about looking for your board on there. Do you know if it's even a possibility?? Thanks for considering!

Chrissy, I hear you! I almost wish that I had gone gender neutral with my daughter... then I wouldn't be going through this right now for my son! I loved the grey and yellow "you are my sunshine" theme, but had really wanted a gender specific nursery (with gender neutral wall color) so that I could change it up based on boy or girl babies... Thank you for sharing!!!

Emmy, your nursery is gorgeous!

I love the ideas of the maps, story book theme and nautical!

SaraVO, you sound so creative! Would love to see pics when you are done. Thanks for sharing your pinterest board!

Chrissy, your nursery sounds so cute too! Have you started yet?

GeralynB: WOW! I love what you did with the drawers!

Our nursery is still in a bit of a mess as I have been using it as a bit of a storage room. Today I had a productive day, organising and cleaning out my laundry and linen cupboard so I can move some stuff from the nursery and slowly start to put t all together! I am no way as creative as some of you guys though!! I will post pics when it is done.

Bella, I am with you, i just want the nursery organised so I have one less thing to do. Especially now that my belly is getting bigger and making it harder to do things!! xx

I will post them up as I go. I'm really pretty impressed with us. My husband is a bit of a woodworker and really likes making things our cradle is going to be incredible and I'm already planning on using it as a toy box when little man moves to his crib. I just hope my vision comes together and it all gets done in time. My bedding should be finished by the end of next week and then new curtains I want a rug but I'm seriously striking out on finding one I like and I can't really visualize what color for curtains and rug until the bedding is finished my mom usually takes things slow but she called today and said she only has a couple of days worth of work left. So things should really speed up after that. I'm struggling with finding the right paint for my stencil quotes every thing I've tested isn't creating great looking lines and the canvases are too expensive to make mistakes on.
