Lovecakes - that sounds terrifying! I'm so glad you and the baby are okay. Since you are, I will go ahead and joke that maybe it was the spin-out scared her upside down! I still think I'll try to skip that approach.

Laughing Duck - it's good that your baby seems to have room to change position so much. I only ever feel hiccups down by my left hip, where I know her bum is. Wierd, but I guess it has to do with how they make her folded body twitch.

I'm definitely feeling a lot of big movements the last few days, but none that result in an overall change of position. It's making me wonder if she might be tangled with the cord somehow and simply not able to turn over. I know they will be doing a very detailed U/S before, during and after any attempt to manually turn her, so I'm trying not to worry too much about it. I see my doctor this Thursday and we will talk about scheduling our next move then.

Hmmmm, I wonder if my boy hasn't flipped but rather just changing positions slightly, making the hiccups etc feel different. Interesting that you also feel them low down! Do you have a doppler at home? I have one and hear the heartbeat loudest in the lower left quadrant of my belly. So some things point to him being head down, but others point to him being breech still (like most of the jabbing movements are low down too). Two more days until I find out (assuming my midwife can tell!)

Off to the chiropractor today for my last visit. Im sure he is breech again (if he ever wasn't). I can feel the head quite clearly under my ribs, and could feel a leg or foot down low this morning. Hoping this last session does the trick, otherwise ecv it is!

Good luck! I have my likely last acupuncture session later today, and will see my doctor on Thurs to formalize a plan to go forward. Do you know yet when they would try ECV for you? Theoretically they like to do 37 weeks here. I think I'm going to lobby for next Fri (36+5) if possible. In the event I end up delivering due to the procedure, I'll have a lot more childcare help available than I would the following week.

I'm trying not to freak out about how soon I may have a baby. If I need a scheduled C section, and they really don't want me to go into labor (my first was born with spontaneous labor at 39 weeks), I'm feeling like it will be scheduled early.

Why does the end of pregnancy seem to go SO FAST when the first 6 months take forever?

I'm hopping on here if you don't mind? I know I've got plenty of time but last appointment (29 weeks) baby was breach and after a few hours of very uncomfortable movements Monday night I'm pretty sure baby is now transverse right under my ribs. I'm getting no kicks below my belly button area like before and I'm sure I can feel the head & bum.
Won't see the midwife until I'm 34 weeks so really nervous for the next few weeks.
Hope all your naughty babies get their heads down ASAP!

From what I understood, my midwife would be doing the ecv today or tomorrow. I see her this afternoon and find out then. I was surprised as I thought they usually wait until 37 weeks, but there is some new evidence that shows 34-37 weeks is most succesful, so maybe she is going off that.

Cazran I hope your baby turns soon! Im surprised that wont see you until 34 weeks. Once I hit 30 weeks it was every 2 weeks. Try not to worry though, you have plenty of time still.

Second baby in the UK, I've only seen the midwife three times all pregnancy (10, 16 & 29 weeks!)

Baby still breech
I misunderstood, she wants an ultrasound asap (hopefully tomorrow). The ecv she wants done before 37 weeks though, so could very well be Friday. Getting kind of nervous!

My U/S today confirmed baby is still breech, which I already felt sure of. The doctor briefly got my hopes up when he did an external and internal exam first, and said it felt like she had turned; i guess she must have a bum-shaped head. Fortunately I never really believed him, so I wasn't TOO disappointed.

I'm currently waiting for a call back about when the ECV will occur - sometime between the end of next week and middle of the following one, based on hospital availability. It would be great if it worked, but i am moving forward mentally as though it is unlikely.

I did get my doctor to agree not to schedule a C section before 39 weeks - as long as I agreed to go to the hospital immediately if I had any concerns I might be in labor before then. He had initially mentioned doing it earlier because I went into labor w my son at 39 weeks, and they would ideally like to avoid labor. I want the baby to stay in as long as she needs to 1) finish growing and developing, and 2) maybe defy the odds and flip on her own at the very end.

Welcome Cazran, I hope you aren't here for long! You're so early there is a very good chance your baby will settle head down. I'd suggest checking out the Spinning Babies site for useful exercises, stretches and positions to encourage it. Good luck!
