I agree with the majority in take weight estimates with a pinch of salt. With my daughter she was estimated to be 7lbs5 at 34 weeks. I was told I had to be induced at 37 weeks due to size. I refused as I'd heard how out scans can be, at 37 weeks she was estimated to be almost 10lbs. I was told refusing induction was risking my health and babies due to her size and I'd never deliver her naturally. 38 weeks I went into labour and she was born 7lbs12. The were waaaay out. Don't let them scare you with it. They have said the little man I'm carrying now is almost 3lbs already at 26 weeks but I will be honest that I don't believe it at all. By fundal height I'm measuring for 34 weeks already but that's just how I carry. Some ladies get big bumps. You do what's best for you in your situation though, if that means induction then so be it, your body your baby

Glad he isn't breech anymore

I was told 10lbs for ds2 and he was 8lbs. They can be way off but obviously could also be accurate! No one knows till baby is here! Best of luck xx

So good that he's not breech anymore!! I had an ultrasound around 37 weeks with my oldest because of some unexplained bleeding. That's when they told me he was on track for 10lbs and he turned out to be 8lbs 4 oz. I understand your concern though!

I had growth scans with my second as my fundle height was big for weeks. My first born was 7lb 12oz and my daughter came at 40+3 weighing 9lb 6oz and was bang on their estimate. I think if you've already had a child their estimates are better as they use their measurements and as well to give the estimated weight. X

My first baby was 9lb11oz at 41+1 and she had to be pulled out with forceps. Couldn't push her out on my own. Got a 4th degree tear from it. So with my second baby they did sizing scans on me. At 35 weeks baby #2 was measuring 7lb14oz. He was born at 40 weeks weighing 9lb7oz. So I would say that scan was pretty dead on. I did get another bad tear but was able to push him out on my own. With baby #3, scans were saying he was measuring smaller. He was born at 39+3 and weighed 7lb6oz. My growth scans were pretty close again. I pushed him out in less thanks 2min. My bigger babies paved the way! Lol But his time with baby #4, my growth scans are he is big. Measuring in the 90th percentile. I am also inclined to believe them because of my 2 previous big babies. I was given the option to have a section or induction at 39. But if your baby is breech and big, not sure it would be very likely for baby to come out naturally. Good luck!!

Why do you think their estimates are better if you've already had a child? Sorry just not getting what you're saying lol

Well I had my baby boy today at 39+6 and he was 9lb 8oz which is what they said he was at 37 weeks. So you were all right with how inaccurate the scans are! Thanks everyone, although I was still scared about it I must admit. No cuts or tears either so much better labour than my first.
