Baby measuring small?

So according to dates I'm 30w5d and according to the ultrasounds I'm 31w2d. She's been measuring big the whole time according to my midwife. Belly is 2ish wks ahead and at the anatomy scan at 19wks everything was fine. However I got a 4d private ultrasound done yesterday and I asked about her size and he said "she's right on track. 11inches 2.5lbs"

Well I looked it up and she should be closer to 17inches... 11 inches is WAY too small. Apparently this guy is a doctor in another country but his English isn't very good so maybe it got lost in translation? But either way I'm really worried and I don't have another doc apt for a couple wks. Should I be worried? Or does he not know what he's talking about? She looks chunky (in a good way) to me!

I wouldn't worry if everything is on track according to your Dr

Thanks. It's just so nerve wracking thinking that something is wrong. Esp when the doctor hasn't done an ultrasound in 10wks and is only basing her size off of my belly. I'm a bit of a hypochondriac though and it's my first baby, but I'll try to relax

Don't worry too much about it. Scans and fundal measurements aren't totally accurate.

Also, how tall are you and OH? That can impact the height of the baby. If your doctor says everything is good and on track, be encouraged! You don't have reason to worry.

Wonder if 11 inch was crown to rump rather than crown to foot?

I was just going to say it could be crl! 2.5lbs sounds good for a 30ish weeker, I'm sure my dad was smaller at that gestation (but my partner and I are both small and so is she, she's perfectly healthy though!)

Hmmm I hadn't thought of that. Hopefully it was! He didn't specify and at the time I didn't know what it should've been so I didn't ask.

I'm 5'6" and oh is 6'2". I was born at 34 weeks at 8lbs and OH was full term but 8ish lbs as well so we figured she'd be a big baby. Midwife even mentioned me maybe needing a c-section earlier if she was measuring too big at the docs growth scan at 36wks

I think something may have got lost in translation. The length definitely doesn't sound right. I had a scan at 31+3, so a little later on than you and we were given an estimated weight of 4lb (just below the 50th centile).

It varies so much and she looks perfect! At my last ultrasound at 30 weeks or so I was told ds3 would be in the 7lb range at birth.. but when checked yesterday the midwife estimated him over 9lbs! He feels big but I don't know, fundal height has been on target..but thats a big variation Ultrasounds can definitely be off, I wouldn't worry so long as everything looks good to the midwife!

I really wouldn't worry I never take too much note into what those scans tell you about weight, with my last baby they told me for weeks she was measuring too small, I had to have extra appointments and there was talk of inducing me early because she wasn't big enough... then 2 weeks before she was born they said she was ok for weight, well she was born 4 days overdue weighing 9lb 8oz and all the newborn clothes I had gone out and bought because they told me she was small didn't fit her she was a right big chunk lol
