Stomach bug before labor?

Tell me about your labor that started like a stomach bug?

Yesterday I was in labor and delivery with painful contractions and no dilation, and today I woke up having diarrhea and then bad nausea and exhaustion.. Nobody else is sick like this so, just curious if anybody else's labor started like this?

Both of my labors just started with contractions, and at due date.. so I'm thinking it's just a bug..

Still curious

I can't say for sure that my stomach bug was definitely to do with my labour but a couple of days before I had my second I was throwing up and had bad diarrhea. The diarrhea was really bad the morning before I started having contractions and she was born that evening. Good luck x

Thank you! I am hoping my body is getting ready for labor.. I'm not sick today but the exhaustion is still there like crazy, I could sleep all day. Baby is super low now, I can feel my ribs again above my bump.. I know it could still be a week or more but I'm hoping not, the exhaustion is taking me down.

I thought for sure that I was going into labor 2 nights ago. I had really bad diarrhea which led to strong contractions. I read somewhere that the onset of contractions can cause diarrhea and vice versa. Maybe it's just your body's way of gearing up for the big day?

I hope so! I've definitely been having painless braxton hicks with the diarrhea... all i can say is, whatever is going on this is soo unpleasant. Days in now and still going through this clear out type situation. Home alone with the kids today which is usually no big deal but I'm barely hanging on right now!

My husband got a full day with the kids yesterday and let me sleep all day and I think he now gets what staying at home with the kids is really like. He did it all Even bedtime with a crying 5 year old that wanted mommy

Thank you for asking , I'm feeling slightly better but still just so exhausted with occasional painful cramping and still nauseas. It doesn't help that ds2 isnt sleeping well lately since he's been sick with a cold.. but still no labor and no baby!

How are you doing?

I'm sorry to hear your ds is sick I hope you get back to feeling better soon.
I had my last OB/Midwife appointment today. My RCS is on Tuesday morning. I'm worried I won't make it to then because almost immediately after my appointment I started having some pretty strong contractions. Nothing timeable yet but they are pretty aggressive when they do happen. Def not Braxton Hicks. I'm GBS positive this time and my labors tend to go fast and we're shooting for a C-section this time, not a VBAC. IDK, I guess we'll see how it works out... doesn't help that I've also been arguing with DH. I'm off to bed early tonight, hopefully the contrax go away by morning!

Ohh that is rough... The end is hard enough without the arguing but we all still end up doing it! I find myself picking fights with dh when I'm anxious

Im GBS+ this time too and even though we're going for a vaginal delivery, I'm not looking forward to having to go to the hospital early for antibiotics.. I want to labor at home

Hoping your contractions have stopped and will make it until Tuesday and have the labor you've been planning on!
