Had my 36 week appt with the hospital midwives and apparently I am borderline anemic again, which has contributed to my shitty skin, complexion and tiredness. Been given a load of Vitamin C, D and iron tablets to boost my levels before the csection.

Baby is head down and nowhere near engaged. I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and I've had enough but, thankfully, I only have a maximum of 18 days left although it seems like a lifetime away.

The Royal had a good labour and recovery ward but rhe post-natal wasn't my favourite. One mw took a dislike to me because I was a teen parent last time ans it was far too hot. Although sitting on tbat stifling ward is a far more appealing prospect than 18 more days of this hell.

Yes, and lost my plug. My cervix has shortened but it doesn't seem to be progressing very fast. Ugh. And I feel like such a bad mother because I just want them to do a csection. I'm so tired of this!! I know she would be fine at this point. I know I should want her to stay in a bit longer, but I don't know how much more I can handle.

To be honest, I have the same due date as you and I have felt so poorly and uncomfortable this entire pregnancy, I wouldn't be devastated if he came now either, I know at this stage he would be ok too. I mean, I do want him in longer really to finalise getting ready for birth, it's just so hard when you feel so awful, I will not be sad to see the back of this pregnancy. When I did midwifery training a few years ago I delivered a 34 week baby and he was 6 and a half lbs and didn't even need to stay in the unit afterwards, he just went there, got checked and was allowed out in a regular cot next to his mum.

I do feel for you, it must be awful, especially with your other children to look after too.

Sorry to hear you're in the hospital again Xpecta. It must be so frustrating and it's understandable that you'd just want baby here at this point.

Dream - I'm absolutely scunnered too. I've been throwing up all week and it's increased the past 24 hours to the point where I'm quite dehydrated and may need to go to triage tomorrow. I just want baby here now, I'm miserable

Had my 34 week appointment yesterday. They explained her head measurements to me more fully. Apparently she is already in the 97the percentile and 9.2cm. Met with the midwife instead of the OB and she frankly told me my options as of now but that we can't make any decisions until closer to. So...my plan is that if I go into labor before thirty nine weeks I will try to have a vaginal brith with the understanding it may end in a csection. But we will schedule the elective csection for thirty nine. I'm making my peace with the possibility of a csection at this point. I've heard positive and negative stories about both and I figure I will be okay no matter what.

definitely ready for it to be over now.

So tomorrow is the day - 39 weeks and time for the induction. I'm kinda terrified. This isn't what I wanted, I wanted a natural, relaxed home birth, and now I have to be induced and try and dodge all the likely interventions that follow. And of course you need oxytocin to progress, which I'm unlikely to be producing much of if I'm frightened

At the same time, I am over this pregnancy. It's been shit. My body is trashed (the stretch marks are horrendous because of the polyhydramnios), I'm exhausted and grumpy and just want it to be over!!

Any tips for improving my mood tomorrow would be great!!

Hey lovelies. I'm just into third tri with my second, I have my gtt/bloods on Tuesday and a growth scan Wednesday (routine because of my bmi). I find every test nerve wracking because I really want my second home birth and am so worried they'll find something that makes it more difficult. But I'm looking forward to seeing baby on the scan again, they weren't 100% sure on gender so I'm going to ask again hehe.

I was at work yesterday and my colleagues kept getting worried about me because apparently my breathlessness seemed quite extreme so they sent me to day unit to be checked out (I work in maternity), the day unit staff weren't worried, they monitored baby for a while and they seem to be fine in there and they thought my breathlessness sounded reasonable in the context and I didn't feel tight in my chest or anything so they didn't do any more investigation. It's likely a bit worse because my iron levels are quite low, I'm on heavy duty tablets now.

Otherwise things are fine, I'm just complaining a lot about feeling so uncomfortable already and not sleeping great. I've got three more weeks of hospital shifts before I can calm down and work from home so just got to push through that.

On a positive I've ordered a brand new baby carrier just for ME and I've got some beautiful second hand baby grows from a nice lady xx

What baby carrier did you go for Mummafrog? I'm currently in the process of a) deciding whether to get one before baby arrives or waiting to see how I go with my pram and b) what carrier to go for should we decide to get one!

I had a lot of breathlessness with aneamia! I'd be so out of breath just climbing the two flights of steps to our bedroom! It's much improved on tablets hopefully they'll help you too!

Sonny I went for the Izmi baby carrier which is quite new to the market and people are raving, it is entirely adjustable from small newborn (without an insert!) to big toddler and a soft structured buckle carrier like the connecta but with better support on the shoulders and waist, I'm so excited. We don't use prams till they are much bigger, just find carrying easier, I'd definitely get yourself one before just to have the option if you find a sling library nearby they're amazing because you can try different ones on to see if they fit you well.

Xpecta oh congratulations that's amazing!! Sounds like your body delivers at 6 pounds regardless of number of weeks so glad she's doing so well and I hope she can be in your arms all the time soon. How did the birth go? All my love
