Anyone measuring big at 34 weeks? worried !

Hi I'm pregnant with our third child my first was 7lb 9 second was 8lb6 and am getting v anxious this baby will be v big. I am 5ft 3 with a rather large bump ! I had an extra scan at 34 weeks as had a couple episodes of bleeding but now I'm v worried baby will be more than 9 pounds and I'm only a petite small person !

Measuring above 95 the centile for weight by scan and fundal height measurements. Should I be worried I'm getting lot of SPD pains this time struggle to get up stairs etc at times but just plodding on. Has anyone had a scan showing large baby but gone on to have normal delivery , should I be asking about earlier sweep etc .

Help me ladies I'm v anxious !

X

I make 'em big, baby was 9lbs 2oz last time, however at his last scan they thought he would be nearly 10lbs! I ended up with a c section last time but unrelated to his size.

I'm doing the same song and dance this time with another big boy, however i will be attempting a vbac.

Remember the babies heads are meant to squish to make it out! Plus your odds of tearing reduce with subsequent vaginal births. Try not to worry!

SPD is a mechanical hip problem and the size of the baby won't be causing it, secondly this is your third baby so it is very normal for you to be measuring ahead. I wouldn't worry if your doctors aren't, labour could go smoothly regardless of size.

It sounds like you could have a big baby but if they think massive or you won't cope they would look at inducing you earlier. Express your concerns if you can.

I always measure smaller I'm quite tall so baby has more room I think I never believe funda height! This is my 5th pregnancy getting this far but only 4th baby and I'm measuring a couple of weeks behind. I had growth scan with my others and they were always quite accurate,

My friend recently had a baby, her first girl was a week overdue and weight 8.5lbs her second, a boy, measured really big on scans and fundal height and she was given a section at 36 weeks he was 9.5lbs!

I wouldn't worry at this point. I measured big with my first three pregnancies, and my babies were average in weight. I measured "slightly small" with my fourth, and my baby (who was estimated to be average in weight, too) was 9lb2oz! He came out chunky (and still is, but he's 14 months, so he should still be chunky lol). No GD or any other issues.

Measuring big is often a sign of excess amniotic fluid, have they checked that?
