Flashing lines in vision

Has anyone had this ? I had it a few times during third tri, I had it today 3 days after giving birth I'm wondering if it's hormone induced or should I worry ?

It's worth mentioning to your doctor. I've had it randomly for years (not lines, more like spots), was told it's stress related but might be a deficiency in your vitamins somewhere.

Watch out for things like a flood of eye floaters across your vision, darkening in the edges of your vision, or "wavy" vision (like looking through an old window) as these are emergency situations and can indicate retina detachment.

I've not had it in pregnancy but I get occurlar migraine. Which is basically a lot of visual disturbance without the headache. Consultant thinks it's hormone related as when it happens, it's always at a similar time of the month! So I imagine it could def be your hormones as they are settling back down! Could also just be that you are really tired!

I get things floating in my vision after a shower quite commonly in pregnancy, I think maybe I just get too hot?

But ask your midwife/doc if you are worried. Be worth checking your blood pressure if it doesn't go away!

Sonny I get ocular migraine as well. After I had mu twins I got one every day for several weeks! It was really concerning so I did have a full workup for it but that's all it was. It was hormone related.

I would check in with your doctor/midwife just to be sure of what's going on. It could be bp, anemia, hormones, dehydration, etc.

This afternoon after going on a longer dog walk than usual I had the flashing lines and it scared me because of my history of pre-e, called my dr and she's having me go in for a bp check tomorrow but because of feeling ok without other symptoms right now she's thinking it's my anemia.

Agree that it is likely an ocular migraine. I had one for 3 days straight after having Emma.

Not flashing lines specifically, but I've now had 2 instances of patches of visual snow in my vision that last for 10-30 minutes and then resolves. I always see visual snow to a minor degree, when looking at a blank surface or a patch of solid colour on the computer screen, but these 2 episodes have been different. Instead of being like part of an object's texture, I was seeing the fuzzy 'snow' instead of anything else, but only in a patch of my vision. It definitely occurs when I'm feeling stressed, but it also occurs on days when I've got a stiff neck, so it's possible it's a nerve thing.
