can anyone shed a bit of advise please going insane here

ok so i am 31+4 ... measuring 36 weeks. (i know this doesnt always mean anything)
at 29 weeks i was measuring 33 weeks so i guess baby is growing ok.
however at my midwife appointment i am 2/5 engaged and this os my third and was told that usualy the head doesnt engage till much later in pregnancy and sometimes not at all till labour.
so do you think i am actually alot further on like im measuring?
should i be expecting lo to come early?
im so confused... i have had other changes like i was constipated all the way through yet this last week i have done nothing but use the loo sorry tmi and i feel generally unwell. braxton hicks have deffo kicked in now.. but the pressure down there is horendous obviously makes more sense now that i know im 2/5 but im still slightly worried that at 31+4 surely he shouldnt be engaging yet?
any of you ladies shed any light please.
thanks

I think they can pop in and out. Everyone said DD would engage early but I never got the obvious drop she was only 2/5 in active labour although it did turn out that her arm was in the way. I think the babies just do what they feel like!

Hello,

My DS around 30 weeks was already head down in my pelvis. He stayed that way until 36 weeks when he went transverse but luckily turned back within a couple days.

I never measured big though so I can't give you any insight on that.

I always measure smaller however baby is already head down really low, I'm currently 32+1 and feel like this one is coming early! This will be number 4!

It's really a waiting game, if you are measuring that much over have they sent you for a growth scan? It could be high fluid levels?

It must be different at different trusts because mine would send you either way 2cm over or under x

I could be wrong, but I THINK i read somewhere that baby comes when there is some chemical change in the lungs. So i dont know if babys growth is the only factor in determining how soon they will arrive.
