Dilated to 2 and super soft, I know I know...

I know it doesn't really mean anything but I really want it to mean it's going to happen tonight!
Last week I was firm and dilated to 1. So I've made some progress.
I've had my 3 other children before 37 weeks due to my water suddenly breaking. So this is the longest I've been pregnant and now that I'm considered term I'm just so impatient!
The dr said if the baby drops into my pelvis I'll dilate bc my cervix is ready.
Can anyone relate?

SpinningBabies' exercises will help get your baby to drop. Check them out! Good luck! I had that exact experience with my second-born. As soon as he dropped down there (I used SpinningBabies' techniques), I went into labor that day.

I was 2cm and super soft at 39w 3d. Baby was dropped and in position. Had a sweep the next day and was OB was certain I'd have the baby any moment. Still pregnant and overdue now (40w 2d). I'd say don't hold your breath, but I'm pretty sure everyone else has better luck than me so I think you'll have it soon. I'm going to check our the spinning babies this that was mentioned.

With a minute. I'm wrong. I was 2cm and super soft at 38w 6d. Had a sweep then and then another one since then.

^Baby might be dropped, but be sure your baby is facing you and not facing outward. The Belly Mapping area on Spinningbabies will be useful for this. If baby is facing outward, they might be "down," but they often won't put enough pressure on your cervix to start labor. That being said, my fourth-born was in PERFECT position for labor, and labor still wouldn't start for me. So, it's not foolproof that you'll go into labor when your baby is in place and your cervix looks ready.
