Baby Doesnt "Feel" Like He's Coming Anytime Soon

39 weeks today with #3. Ive had some braxton hicks, but no weird discharge or anything like that. I had early signs with my other two pregnancies and my husband keeps asking me about contractions and discharge and pelvic pressure and all that stuff and I feel like im disappointing him because I haven't really had anything I haven't been checked for dilation. To be honest i wasn't really too curious because I started dilating early with my other two pregnancies and still went over my due date and if i'm not dilated I dont want that to make me feel worried or discouraged. I went into labor at 40+4 with my first and 40+2 with my 2nd, so I was really hoping to be right around there with this baby too, but it honesty doesn't "feel" like I'm having this baby next week.. Did anyone else feel that way and still go into labor? Thanks

Hi! I don't have any advice but I am right there with ya! With #1, I went into labor at 39 wks 6 days. I didn't really have any signs before that day--I literally lost my mucous plug and had my bloody show after contractions started, so everything happened at once for me.

I'm 39 wks 2 days now with #2 and haven't really felt any "signs" that she is coming anytime soon, either! I'll keep dancing and doing all the old wives tales things in hopes they work again haha.

Hang in there!!

I had this too until I woke up one morning to find I was losing my plug, DD arrived about 4 days later with mild contractions stopping and starting for most of that time

I was checked yesterday and I was only 50% effaced 1cm dilated, but baby is low and hes been high up at my previous check-ups, so progress is being made I guess. My BP was really good 106/70 and my weight gain seems to have slowed down, so thats good! Hopefully when things start happening, they happen really quick and it doesn't necessarily mean labor is still a ways away.

With my last pregnancy (now a 1 month old), I felt the same way. I actually predicted the day my baby would be born because I just didn't feel like the baby was coming, didn't feel like it, felt like maybe it would be soon (3 days before I had my baby), and then said THIS BABY IS COMING TODAY. Okay, so the baby was born at 3am the next morning, but I was absolutely correct. We know our bodies, and we can hear our babies... Especially when we've already had a couple of babies. But most likely, your baby will prooobably be born at around the same time as the others... provided your dates are correct because I know mine weren't.

With my first I went to bed at 11pm after a sweep at 10am that morning. No twinges, nothing. My dd arrived at 5.37am the next morning, so who knows! Things could happen very quickly once they start!
