Baby's head measuring large URGENT PLEASE

I am currently 32+3 days. I had an ultrasound today just to check on a possible extra lobe on the placenta.

When she did the measurements, baby's head was down... but measuring 37 weeks!!! The rest of the body around 33 weeks. She did it several times to make sure.

She said that the head sometimes stops growing and the body catches up.

Baby also is weighing in at approximately 5lbs +/-12 oz.

All was normal at my 21 week ultrasound and at 28 weeks my fundal height was checked and it was spot on.

I see the Dr on Friday but now I am so worried something is wrong... hydrocephalus or down syndrome... etc. Or just an absolute gigantic kid.

My first baby was 6lbs 15 oz.. second was 8 lbs 7 oz.

Anyone experience anything similar or have heard of anything similar?

My boys had heads in the 95th percentile at birth... OUCH! They were average size (#1 3.8kg and #2 3.3kg but he was 3wks early). There is absolutely nothing wrong with either of them.

I never had scans after 20wks so didn't get estimates of size beforehand but I know plenty of ladies who had size estimates from a scan that were way off.

My LO's head was in the 95th percentile as well. I had a normal vaginal delivery and LO is very healthy (though we won't mention my complete inability to hold my pee, lol). He just has a big head like his daddy, lol.

A friend of mine had a baby with a very large head. I'm afraid I don't know the measurements, but her obstetrician decided it was best to induce her at about 38 weeks as a result. She had a vaginal birth which was quite difficult for her, she probably would have been better off with a c section (but that's a very individual choice), and the baby's head was a bit large compared to the rest of him but his birth weight was a health 3.4kg, and he's totally normal. They did have him tested for a couple of things when he was a couple of months old but he's completely fine, just has a big head, they think he'll 'grow into it.' While they were waiting for the induction to kick in the OB came and measured the father's head, turns out his is above average size as well.

My nephew also had a very large head when he was born. Even after his birth he was closely monitored with measurements of his head at every pediatric appointment. He's completely normal and is a very smart kid! His dad also had a very large head . He'll be 6 in October!
