Swollen ... tmi!

Hey ladies! I'm 36 weeks and noticed throughout the day my downstairs area has been getting sore and is now a bit swollen!! It's quite painful! I also keep getting cramps a couple of times a day as if I need to do a bm (sorry) but I don't!

Baby has also been a little quiet today .. he has moved but just not as much as usual .. going to relax and do some kick counting now my other LO is in bed!

Anyone else having any of these issues?

Hi

Yes I've had this I just assumed it was due to lack of space in there but I do keep a close eye. If in doubt I would def call your midwife. I'm also swallon but not painful I think it's all that extra blood and hormones floating round. We're Getting there Hun but call your midwife team if any doubts xx

Hurrah we are now in our month, yippee!!!

Definitely call your midwife first thing in the morning to mention the reduced movements. My first I had reduced movements at 39+6 , I went into be assessed and scanned that afternoon , they induced me the next morning due to reduced placental blood flow.

Go get checked out if in doubt. I don't mean to scare you but my LO was also breech and I started noticing reduced movements around 34 weeks... didn't think much of it because I still got the 10 kicks. There were days that felt 'off'. My DH always convinced me that it was all fine and I never called L&D. I should have trusted my instincts. I went in for an ECV at 37 weeks and had an emergency c-section instead because of low amniotic fluid and reduced spontaneous breathing. Dr was worried about cord compression.

ALWAYS get checked, even if you feel silly!! Even if you feel like you should just wait and see... trust your instincts!

Definitely agree with calling your MAU , only you know how your baby moves and in what pattern . Don't feel like you're wasting their time or being pushy by asking to get your baby checked properly , Ie a scan , as a doppler will only listen to a HB and not show any potential issues !
