^^ that’s interesting about the peppermint tea as this was the advice from the head midwife at pre op and advised to buy it and it wouldn’t effect your milk.

I’m not breast feeding but still interesting as I wouldn’t of questioned it if I’ve been advised by the hospital.

I've had two csecs now . Definitely full brief underwear that comes upto your bellybutton . Over the bump yoga pants or leggings . Drink a LOT of water to make going no2 a bit easier, if you feel constipated don't wait , ask the midwives for a gentle laxative straight away . Or get your DH to bring you in a raw fruit and veg smoothie ( in the UK the innocent green ones are good for getting things moving! ) get up as soon as possible . On both occasions I was up and about within hours after the op . I didn't bleed too much , just wore regular sanitary pads. Another tip for going to the loo for that dreaded first poo is to roll up a hand towel and hold it against your scar . Helps you feel like you won't push your insides out your abdomen . This is of course completely impossible but refer back to the laxatives , plenty of fluids and moving around to help your gut to get moving !! You'll be on strong pain meds they can cause constipation too . Also keep on top of the pain meds even if you feel Ok . As you'll soon wish you didn't skip a dose . I was on paracetamol only after day 5 . I was out for lunch in town on day 6 . Breastfeeding will cause strong after pains that are a bitch , but after day 5 you'll hardly notice them.

The Green invigorate one is nice and the super smoothie pomegranate one is lovely . Lots of fruit pulp and fibre to keep things , Ehh , regular . My DD2 I didn't buzz for midwives once and only had an hour or two of visits everyday . I just got on with it and didn't feel sorry for myself. DD1 Was preemie so the day after my op I was walking back amd forth to scbu . Don't get me wrong you'll ache , but you'll ache less by being active as soon as poss. Also look on ebay for post csec support knickers , they're incredibly sexy , but a total life saver
