Baby is 6.5 pounds now @34 weeks.

Hey ladies

I had a growth scan today and my little viking baby is around 6.5 pounds by now. That's in the 90.5th centile, does anyone know what that means? The ultrasounds tech said it's normal because I have GD but I've had GD 2 times before and the 34 weeks growth scans were always normal then

So I think this one will be bigger

I have a MW/docs appointment tomorrow at the hospital. I'm already supposed to be induced no later than 40 weeks, but do you think they´ll change that to 39/39 weeks since she's big?

I didn't need induction with my other girls, they came on their own at 37 & 39 weeks. So I hope I only have like 3-5 weeks left now. Don't wanna give birth to a 15 pound baby like that woman in China I saw on the news

that means that of 100 other babies of the same gestation 90.5 would weigh less than your baby and 9.5 would weigh more.

thats pretty big i guess but the scans arnt always right! if there worryed im sure they will induce u before then but my auntie was induced at 40 weeks and her LO (not so LITTLE!) was 11lb 2 he was on the 95th line! and he got stuck on the way out they should have done it earlyer she kept telling them but they wouldnt listen! Charlie was on the 75th line when he was born at 40+5 weighing 8lb10.5, then again my little sister was born at 35 weeks at she weighed 6lb1oz so i dunnoooooo

yep he was a big lad! still is now! hes 3 and he wares 5-6 years clothes! kids a tank

not like charlie hes down too the 25th line now!

My baby was 6lbs 8oz at 34 weeks and I am now 37 weeks and havent mentioned induction or anythin..said it is fine he is just a big baby. I dnt have GD though so may be different for yu

Ahhhhh! I had a growth scan at 34 weeks and the estimate was 6 lbs 8 and on the 95th centile... now I'm scared I am gonna have to push out an 11 lber!!

my daughter was 6lb5 at 36weeks growth scan.... was born just under 9lb at 41+2 x

i have done a lot of reading about GD recently as i was diagnosed a couple of weeks back and it seems they will induce around the 38/39 mark and defo no later than your due date, but its not really to do with the size of the baby, just more possible complications - i have a scan in the morning to find out when i am getting induced

Yup. This is my third GD baby and they've always talked about 40 weeks unless something comes up. I had to beg for a sweep last time at 39 weeks because I was soooo miserable. I have another growth scan at 38 weeks now so maybe they´ll see how that one goes. Oh well, I´ll try my best to go into labour on my own before that
