All over itchy body!!! PLEASE READ NEED ADVICE!

I feel like I am going crazy. Its feels like PUPPS all over again (which was miserable) but without the rash this time. Every part of my body is suddenly itchy EXCEPT for the palms of my hands and the bottom of my feet which is apparently the sign of cholestasis.

Anyone have this itchiness and what did you have to do...

So, managed to get ahold of an on-call doctor and he thinks it sounds like cholestasis so I have to go to the hospital in the morning to get monitored and have blood work done. He did say that if I am positive for it then I will be induced asap. So, at 36 weeks. Yea, my anxiety levels just went through the roof!

Taking benadryl to try and help but all its doing is making me tired...

Anyone else have this and not have cholestasis? I know that its not PUPPPS because I have had that and this itch is so different and there is zero rash.

Thanks, I really hope its something else too but my doctor seems pretty sure thats what it is. Cant know for sure without blood work which can take a week to get the results. Im trying not to let my anxiety get the better of me because I tend to get panic attacks with them and that won't be good for me or baby.

I want whats best for my son so if I need to be induced in a week then Im ok with it and if not then I am ok with that too. Just ready to not be itchy!

It does sound like choleostasis from what ive heard of it (happened to be reading a leaflet on it in the hospital this week) andnit said itching can be anywhere but is often worse on soles and palms, so not necessarily there... but I'm sure it said it would depend on your bile levels as to how severe it was and what treatment they gave you/whether they induced or not? Ie if the levels are low they can hold off for a while and give you creams and anti itching stuff. Try not to worry too much, easier said than done but it seemed that most women with it went in to have a healthy normal pregnancy. Update us when the blood work is back! Worst case scenario and you have to be induced you are so close to term already , keeping everything crossed for you! X

This sounds like me! My doctor was convinced it was cholestasis and I had to go in at 6 am for blood work. It was *not* cholestasis!! She said I'm fine to itch away without worry (I'm miserable with bloody legs today). No rash, so I don't have PUPPS. My c-section is scheduled in 20 days (39w). Oatmeal baths, avoiding hot showers, and ice help give me some relief. Keep us updated!

I have this too. Bloods are negative so no idea what the issue is but not over. It is awful and all you can really do is symptomatic relief. Good to get your bloods checked though just in case

I have been so itchy it's unreal! Like my whole entire body. It's mostly at night for me though. I probably only got about an hour of sleep last night because the itchiness was keeping me up and driving me crazy. I got up in the middle of the night and took a shower and put lotion on (thinking maybe it's just dry skin from the weather) and that seemed to help a little. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it's restless leg syndrome all over my body or if it's my skin that's itchy.
