Why can't I feel my baby move?!

I am currently 31 weeks 3 days pregnant and up until Friday evening I could really feel my baby move all the time, and I could see him move all the time too.

After Friday evening up until now I haven't felt him move, but last night my fiance said he could feel the baby but I couldn't!

I have been to the hospital and spent almost 2 hours on a monitor today, my pulse was 134 which was extremely high but eventually I calmed down and when they monitored the baby's pulse they didn't seem 100% happy (his heart rate was moving between 140-160) and I have to go back on Tuesday and have a ultrasound.

Sat with the midwife we could all see my belly moving too but I could not feel it. Does anyone have any advice or ideas why this could be happening and what they might be looking for on this scan?

Sorry for making it so long but it is my first baby and I am worried, thanks x

I don't really have any advice but just wanted to send you some hugs .
It could be that as baby gets bigger you don't feel the kicks and punches in the same way? I just feel squirming now.

Take care xx

I don't know lovely, but I have read that it depends what position the baby has got themselves into so if they're facing your back you feel less. I hope all goes well on Tuesday

I agree it could be babys position or if you have an anterior placenta maybe. Also you get so used to alot of babys movements that they dont really register in ur head. I found myself watching my belly moving and not registering that he was actually moving.

140-160 HR sounds okay to me. Im not a professional of course but my little guys heartrate has already been between that mark and always been fine. So unless it was decelerating(sp?) and accelerating with no explanation i wouldnt worry too much about the HR!!

Hun, if they wasn't 100% happy, they wouldn't have sent you home. I know this because LOs heartrate kept dropping the other day when i was having contractions so they kept me in overnight (ended up being 4 nights coz i was in preterm labour)... They aren't allowed to send you home if they suspect something is wrong. x

I would suspect that the scan is to have a look at the position of your Vinny said it could be anterior and thats why you yourself arent feeling the movements as much.

Hope you get told good news at your scan hun...

I'm not as far gone as you but I've had this aswell.. Where I can see bump moving and I can feel her moving if I put my hand on my tummy but can't feel it IN my tummy if that makes sense..

I just assumed it was because I had an AP and the movements soon returned to normal so I wasn't too worried.. Let us know how you get on.. Sorry I don't really have anything helpful to say lol

I'm also 31 weeks and 3 days and I have felt movement, but it's been much less pronounced in the last few days. My Mum told me not to worry and that things change the later you get. You've seen the docs and they found a heartrate - so that's good news.

Good luck with your scan :-)

I get this all the time too where I can't feel baby move but hubby can. I go to daycare for CTG everyweek and don't feel most of the movements. LO is having a quiet day today, I didn't feel anything til about 1 this afternoon.

I hope everything goes well with your scan xxx
