We are thrilled to announce the arrival of our March Lamb Megan Susan on Monday 1st March at 3:55am - she was almost 3 weeks early and bags weren't properly packed - I thought I'd got lots of time!

My waters broke on Sunday am and after a hospital visit for assessment I was 1cm dilated. Induction was booked for next day if labour didn't start before and I was sent home. By 8pm contractions were growing but hospital advised me to stay at home until they were more regular but by 10:30pm OH insisted we went in. When they examined me I said I was going to cry if I was only 2cms dilated but they found I had made it to 8! They told me if I walked to the delivery suite I'd get to 9! By then I was rather attatched to my gas and air canister so as long as they'd have said I could take it with me I think I would have jogged down to delivery!

Meg arrived 5 and a half hours after arriving at hospital with her cord knotted around her neck so there was a bit of drama with the paediatrician rushing in and everyone gathered round to get her breathing but luckily she was fine. The only bad thing about my hospital experience was that OH could be there for delivery and then had to leave as our hospital is on limited visiting due to the norovirus. He had to wait to see us until 3pm for an hour and then 6pm again for an hour. I was lucky to get my own room so spent the next seven hours looking at the baby sleeping in the crib rather shell-shocked but very happy!

We are now on night three at home and have enjoyed about four hours sleep since then but she's worth it!
