Burning Pain on Upper Abdomen?

Hi All,

Since last night I had this very irritating and painful burning pain either on my outter skin on my upper abdomen or on the upper part of my uterus (hard to tell where its coming from). Also when I was tossing in bed this morning I felt pinches in my uterus, twangs of pain, not like cramps.

Has anyone had these at all. I'm very worried because I'm now almost 28 weeks and had an abruption last time at 28 weeks (however with no pain). Could these be a warning or simply my uterus and skin stretching since I haven't been preggers in 8 yeas.

Any thoughts are welcome - btw babies moving fine..

No, def not heartburn, can recgonize that now since I had a good bit of it early on.. hehe

It's not an internal pain, feels like either on the uterus or my skin, I just can't tell which is why its driving me crazy.

heartburt can feel alot worse though the further along u get. the heartburn i got to start didnt feel like the heartburn i got later on it was making me be sick it was that bad . i had to cut out certon foods just 2 stop being sick with it. try some rennies or gaviscon just see if it helps at all.

if your worried though i would phone your midwife it dont take long and will give u peace of mind.

I put a thread on about this last week but as I'm on my Internet on my phone I can't put a link to it.

If you do a search for 'burning in ribs' or similar then you may find it.

Does it feel like you want to rip your bra off and like someone as done a Chinese burn over that bit of skin?

I have had it since about 27 weeks and it has got much worse. I can't stand wearing a bra and have to sit watching tele lifting my boobs up! I get laughed at by DH!
Xxx

LOL! Absolutely. This happens to me most often in the evenings. I put on a sports bra and put a pillow under my breasts to hold them up while I sit and relax. This seems to help a little.

Thanks all,

based on the symptoms and what actually makes it feel better, seems like my muscles seperating a bit since baby is having a huge growth spurt. It feels like I've done 30,000 crunches.

It does feel like a chinse burn across the skin just as you described!

Yup, I'm a sufferer too. Posted something similar a few weeks ago. Turned out baby had lodged his big fat bum under my left rib. Sometimes I feel kicks there. Bra was brushing against this area which made it burn so so badly! The area didn't look different...it wasn't even red - but the pain - my god the pain! I ended up dollopping lots of cold moisturiser on the area and not wearing a bra to avoid the pain. Seems to have gotten a lot better now since baby has moved further down. Hope you feel better soon hun. x

ETA: A chinese burn - perfect way to describe it!

I have the same thing. It's like the skin is burning, just under my ribs, especially on the right side. It feels to me like it's stretching. It's worse when I have a large meal as well.
Sorry, not much advice to give, but just wanted to tell you you're not the only one!
