Is baby still classed as premature if born after 37 weeks but before due date?

Personally I don't think so, but please clear things up for me!

not according to the midwives at my hospital But it seems that different places have their own rules sometimes. She told me 37 weeks is classed as full term

Even though technically a baby born before 40 weeks to some is early, the baby will be treated as term if born after 37 weeks by health professionals.

They aren't medically classed as prem but you, friends and relatives would most likely say that baby was early I guess.

Baby is on time if they come anywhere between 37 and 42 weeks. 40 weeks is an average gestation. From 37 weeks is full term, baby is fully developed and delivery is not considered premature.

Normally they are classed as late preterm baby and might be ordered to stay in the hospital until they reach their original due date. A lot of it depends on where you are and the condition of your baby.

37 weeks is full term, they are not considered a preemie at that point.
