When did your bump grow into a proper bump

Hi ladies, i was wondering when you had a proper established bump. Im 5 months now and i think i look about 4 months and everyone says how small i am :@ i was a size 6 before and my stomach was naturally toned, my midwife said its probably because off that but I've seen alot off women who were slim before with Proper Bumps x x

Hi hun. 5 months is the classic time when people say you look small, as people dont see that time as early pregnancy anymore, so they expect you to be big as a house! Its quite annoying I know, but try not to let it get to you, I was saying the other day I either get "you are so small" or "you are so big" and sometimes within an hour of eachother!! its peoples perceptions of a pregnant woman, but I know it makes me worry when people say either to me as you think is something wrong? I would say if MW is happy everything is as good as can be expected, but I wish people wouldnt comment, afterall they dont need to, they could just say how well you look! lol

Hugs

Suz (35 weeks) xx

Oh I just wanted to add, even if it turns out you dont carry big at the end, a lot of women with big bumps will tell you how uncomfortable it is and how even more fed up they are at the end as it seems to go on forever! lol Every woman carries differently just concentrate on looking after yourself and dont worry about what people say xx

Think my bump exploded about 25/26 weeks. Now it's just sprouting. Before that people would comment on how small I am. Even now people will say I'm small then the next person will say I'm big! As long as Midwife says baby's happy try not to worry

Hey hun. I had to wait until about 25 weeks until I felt like I was getting anywhere near a proper bump. I had a slim waist and my stomach was flat-ish (not washboard though...you could certainly grab a bit!), and it still took a while for it to feel like what I would consider a "proper" bump. Other people I know got theirs really quickly though. A friend of mine is about 10 days behind me , and I remember being 20 weeks...and I was consumed with jealousy that her 19-week bump looked far more impressive than mine!!

Don't worry though - you bump is waiting for you round the corner :-) x

I would say about 26 weeks onwards I got bigger, the last 2 weeks in particular Ive noticed a huge difference in myself, I properly look pregnant, my bump is round, and got a lot tighter - and gets EVEN tighter when I have braxton hicks.

Its strange during pregnancy, we often want to be moving on to the next stage, getting bigger, looking more pregnant. I remember feeling the same, now I wish I was a little smaller as I have LO's feet under my ribs when I sit down, which is not so comfy.

As long as you and bubs are healthy, thats the main thing!

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

My cousin is a week ahead of me, but she barely looks pregnant. MW told me that if you're toned pre-pregnancy, then your muscles do a better job of holding in the baby and the weight. I was losing weight pre-preg, but hadn't toned up, and I looked about 2 months ahead of her the last time I saw her

hi hun, i think my bump started sprouting when i was almost 5months - as this is my second and i got rather big in the last few weeks with my first, my muscles were not as tight as they used to be.
ignore what anyone says tho - as long as ur midwife isnt concerned then i wouldnt be. they see hundreds of pregnant women of all shapes and sizes so they know what they are talking about. :-)

good luck xx

Mine wasn't noticeable until 30 weeks to the untrained eye. Now I feel like a house.

I'm abnormal, it seems.

I started showing at around 16 weeks, I don't know why. Maybe it's my age: I'm only 16.
