wiggly lines in vision?

I have had this before I was pregnant but only on a few occasions, and i've had it a few times in the last week...maybe 3 times.

It's like lots of little lines or wriggly dots that appear in your vision and move arounds - almost sparkly. Like little lights. sort of see-through - there's no blurred vision or anything, just these bright or wriggly spots or lines. Usually they are there for just a few seconds and then go....you cant look at the lines as they just move around then vanish..

Very hard to explain...
Anyone know what it is?
I'm not verry worried - doc measures my blood pressure etc but I wonder if it could be blood pressure related?...

My vision went really blurry last night too. I said if it hadn't gone by this morning Id go to the docs, but it seems to have cleared up.

If your blood pressure is ok thats a good sign everything is ok

Don't have a clue what it is though lol, sorry!

its normally an indication that your blood pressure needs looking at....sometimes i get it if i stand up too quickly though or move in general to quick...

Sounds like something called vitreous floaters. I've always had them but I've read pregnancy can increase them. It's cells or bits of protein floating around in the eye. Not really anything to worry about as long as its not BP related. Not really anything you can do about it either.

I have had this a total of 6 times since being pregnant.
I call it sparkles, its like you can see about 40 mini sparkly light flashing things in front of your eyes. Mine go after about 30 seconds or so.
I asked my midwife about it and she said it is to do with high blood pressure but i always measure fine when i see her so she is not really worried.
She said it can also happen when suddenly getting up or if you kneel then get up etc or if you get too hot and do too much.

It not only has to do with blood pressure, but the fact that MORE blood is going through all the blood vessels of the body, including the eyes IOW veins are bigger etc.

A lot of women's vision correction changes slightly during pregnancy due to the amount of fluid within the eye, and/or the amount of blood in the vessels of the eye, hormone changes, and thickening of the cornea.

They are most often nothing to worry about (preeclampsia happens in 3% of all pregnancies), and they are quite common.

Its always good to mention the spots, as others have said when accompanied by high blood pressure and other PE signs the doc can keeping an eye on things a lot sooner.

When I had PE it was dull headaches along with the slow moving big round circles in my eyes that indicated my complications.

I have little sparklies (flies) and wavy lines this pregnancy and do not have PE.
