I have swollen in the ankles, feet and hands but not all over... I'd check it out with your midwife if I were you x

Thanks snailien

I have midwife today so will tell her, i stupidly googled my symptoms and it came back suggesting preeclampsia!! so im trying not to worry now.

Can you have preeclampsia with low blood pressure as my BP has been nice and low thru my whole pregnancy?

Pre eclampsia can pop up right at the end of pregnancy, but it's probably not that. Your BP could have changed, or you might just have lots of fluid in your joints. Ask your midwife when you see her, and make sure she doesn't fob you off. Get checked properly =) BUT don't worry yourself, I've swollen everywhere. Had my fingers in the freezer the other day to get my engagement rings off. Can't unhook my bracelet from my wrist either, and it's usually too loose!!
Good luck honey x

Dont wish to worry and hope all is ok but had a friend of a friend loose her baby a few weeks ago at 31 weeks due to preeclampsia

She noticed a bit of swelling and thought was all normal part of pregnancy until swelled up so much finally went into hospital and lost the baby.

I know if i was you i would at least phone midwife/labour ward asap better to be safe i say.

Good luck

Hi!

There are times when my feet, ankles, legs and hands feel really swollen, particularly if ive been standing up alot or walking around all day, but its gradual, and it comes and goes. If the swelling has appeared suddenly, I'd recommend giving your midwife or assessment unit a call, and asking their advice. It's always better to be safe rather than sorry, particularly as your face is swelling up to. Good luck, and try not to worry x

Go to the clinic. get checked but in the meantime reduce your intake of salt, carbonated drinks, any beverage containing any amount of caffeine[this you should stop completely if you are taking it] such as coke ,cola, coffee .they all cause water retention and can give you oedema i.e the swells that you are having. make sure that the little salt you use is iodised salt. good luck
