Getting induced tomorrow, nervous! UPDATE Didn't get induced yay!

I was due yesterday and was really hoping I wouldn't have to be induced tomorrow! well unless I go into labour myself tonight, tho I really doubt it.

They told me at my last appointment to bring my bag with me tomorrow because they will more than likely send me up to maternity ward for induction this is because I had a previous c-section & I'm trying for a VBAC (fingers crossed)

I'm really nervous now and know I won't be able to sleep tonight even tho I will need plenty! I've got this feeling I'll not get my VBAC, I know all births aren't perfect but I REALLY want a vaginal birth. Not looking too good at the min as baby is still back to back (so was my first ended in FTP, foetal distress & c-section) plus I've heard bad stories about being induced when your body isn't ready so I just have a BIG feeling I'm going to end up with another c-section don't get me wrong tho if the baby is in distress by all means I will be happy that the baby is ok and healthy no matter how she is delivered!

Any encouragement from any ladies who have had successful inductions before would be helpful, thanks! xxx

I did suspect they might have gave me a sweep today but was also sure they were to induce me today because of my previous c-section!

Anyway I just got a sweep so glad this will hopefully move me along to start labour on my own, AND things are so looking up - baby isn't on my back at the mo she is lying to my side & when my cervix was checked she said it was 1cm and could feel babys head this to me is such good news towards my VBAC!! Ohhhhh I really hope I go into labour soon I'm really excited now I might have a good chance of vaginal birth and meet her soon!

My deceased dad's birthday is on the 28th so I'm wondering if shes waiting until then! Noticed that Happymama stated its a full moon that day on another thread maybe a sign!!

Labour dust for all u overdue mummies!

I was induced at 40+4 as I had GD. They started me off with a pessary but the contractions didnt come to much so the next day I had a syntocin drip. Not the most pleasant experience I admit and I was told that the contractions are more intense if you have that drip. My body wasnt ready for labour either, they turned my drip off just as I was about to push and my contractions stopped dead. Everything was fine though, and after 8 hours on the drip Liz arrived with no problems.

I really hope that you get the birth that you want, fingers crossed for you.

Just curious, how are they going to induce? Here the only thing they will do is sweeps, and break the waters. When it's a Vbac inducing by pitocin or even the pill they put under the cervix is not recommended.

Since you're already at your edd, or passed by tomorrow, your body should be ready. I've had 3 Vbacs so far, so it is possible. Try to stay possitive! It's good that you accept the fact that there is a possible repeat c-sec, but there's also the possibility of a vbac too! I wish you all the luck, I hope everything goes well! Ill be waiting for your birth story and pics of your lo.

Thanks very much for the support girls really apperciate it

Happymamma - I'm not sure what they will do, might even end up with a sweep & being sent home if there isn't enough beds, but I'm only guessing. My bump buddie Ginaerhol will probably update you all later if I do go into labour.

Well I'm off to hospital in an hour! Might have my baby by the end of today!
