mine is the same way! i had my flip flops on saturday and when i went to take them off my feet were so swollen that it was actually kind of hard to get them off. then they wouldnt go back on again at all..

im giving it today to see if it happens again, but if not i feel like maybe i should call the doctor. its super uncomfortable and im wondering if maybe i can just eats some extra spinach or something instead of taking the pill. there has to be an alternative that will prevent the swelling, right?
My husband just said the same as you so think i will ring midwife tomorrow and ask her if there is anything I can try instead.

Queserasera - I've also been put on iron tablets as found I was anemic, my feet are slightly swollen majority of the time now but actually are less swollen compared to my extreme feet before taking the tablets... does that makes sense? If it continues maybe discuss with mw?
thanks! i kind of intuitively thought that the iron would reduce the moderate swelling i had before, so i was surprised that wasnt the case! i was looking online and i can't find anywhere that says iron can lead to swelling, but i cant think of anything else that has changed that would cause such a drastic change in the swelling. so, i guess i should probably ring the doctor just to check up on it...

i found a cereal that is fortified with 100& of daily iron needs. so im thinking that if i have that for breakfast and a salad with spinach for greens at lunch, in combination with my prenatal...that surely should be sufficient! im going to call the doctor and see what she thinks about the swelling and about alternative methods for getting the iron. hopefully she will be supportive of that, i really dont want to be swollen like this for the next 9 weeks!

I've never heard of a relationship between iron pills and swelling. My iron levels are fine and I'm not on pills but have had horrible swelling since 18 weeks that got alot worse sonce 30 weeks and keeps getting worse. Definitely mention it to your doctor/midwife but don't just stop taking the iron pills. Anemia during birth can cause lots of problems. Also, spinach doesn't really have lots of iron, it's a myth. Google sources of iron online and you'll find much better foods to eat (red meat being one of the best). Also, having vitamin C aids in iron absorption while calcium works against it, so have some orange juice with an iron rich meal and have your milk/cheese a couple hours earlier or later.

thanks for the information! i will definitely look into better sources of iron...the pesky food pyramid lied to me all these years and here ive been thinking i was set with my spinach! lol. i take my pills in the morning too and ive always, since the beginning of this pregnancy, had a small glass of orange juice and a small glass of milk with breakfast. now it seems like im probably confusing my iron pill by doing so! :-/

i have thought that maybe the swelling is due to the point im at in this pregnancy and has nothing to do with the pills, but ill probably call the doctor just in case. youre right though, that it may just have been an odd coincidence that the swelling worsened when the pills began...

thanks again!
