Can your baby drop a second time?

So, my baby did drop about 2 weeks ago. I felt it and my doctor also confirmed it. So, I was lying in bed last night and I felt her moving her head a lot. Which is unusual as I thought that she was too low to move her head that much. I had the same semi-painful feelings in my pelvis and was litterily afraid to move. I thought that she would break on through.

My doctor was surprised about how low she felt in my pelvis two weeks ago. Then last week she was even more surprised! She told me that I would probally go early! And that when I go it will be very fast! I haven't been "checked", as that will be done on my next doc visit. I have an ultrasound later today. Will they tell me what station of engagement she is at during the ULT? I havn't had my blodd show but I sooo worried that my waters will break and b/c she is so low I won't have time to get to the hospital!

How long do you have after your water breaks before she comes?

Sorry of all the stupid questions-this is my first baby and I'm so scared!

I've never had an ultrasound, but I don't believe they will be able to tell you what station you are without checking vaginally. My mw said the other day you can give birth anytime from a few hours to a few days after your water breaks- depending on if you just leak water (in which case it may be a few days) or if it completely breaks (in which case it will be much sooner). Some women never experience the bloody show, and some that do still don't deliver for several weeks. If you are worried about how low she is, I just wouldn't waste any time calling your doc after your water breaks. But you also have to remember, you could deliver her without the water ever breaking. Not to scare you- but with both of my sis's kids she delivered quickly and her water never broke- the doc always has to break it as the baby's head is crowning (the nice thing is none of her babies are born with the cone head). I would just pay attention to water breaking and contractions and ring your doc if you notice either one.

Sometimes your waters break when the baby is already coming out, sort of like a push of water to help him get through!
