anyone else get pain after eating meals?

It's happened 4 times now, the first time was the worst and landed me in hospital for 4 days. I get severe stomach pains and vomiting bile, i was scanned for gallstones but none were found. Night before last it happened again and lasted 24 hours. I can't tell you how bad the pain is, i'd rather be in labour! I went to the dr's again this morning and he prescribed gaviscon 4 times a day and said it's because the baby is squashing my insides. when it happens it's always after eating a meal. I'm really not that big for 30 weeks but now i'm panicking how i'm gonna be when baby gets bigger, i can't cope with this pain which seems to happen every 3-4 weeks . Has anyone else experienced this?

Sorry if TMI but are you having no.2s regularly? I have irritable bowel syndrome and if I don't poop atleast 4 times a week then when I eat I get really bad tummy pains. If you are struggling to go often try prune juice or cranberry juice (so good for you!) which will help flush you all through xx

Maybe you should eat less? What are you eating? I get heartburn and feel nauseous if I eat too much or if I eat something that doesn't sit right with my stomach. I've never had heartburn in my entire life till my third trimester. It sounds like you might just need to eat foods that are easier on your stomach and in smaller quantities..

Ohhh another thing I just thought of, are you sure you don't have an intolerence? Lactose or wheat or something? It's really common and can cause these symptoms xx

EXACTLY the same thing happened to me, I didnt think it was anything to do with heartburn seeing as I didnt really have heartburn that bad but when I got the pains which started about 20 mins after eating in my upper abdomen (like burning and stabbing at the same time) I was bringing up balls of acid!!! My doctor prescribed me peppermint oil tablets as he thought it was a problem with my bowels but they gave me violent diarrhea (sorry)... after about 3 visits to doctors saying I couldnt cope he prescribed me Ranitidine for Gastritis which is inflammation of the lining of the stomach caused by acid... I have been fine since taking them, I have to take gaviscon when I get heartburn but the Ranitidine work brill....

Only thing is they arent cleared for use in pregnancy although they have been widely used by pregnant women in the past with no problems or side effects.

I was ill between 29-31 weeks and finally got is sorted 2 weeks ago and have been fine since, you can buy ranitidine containing products over the counter I believe, good luck xx

Thanks for the replies girls - as for the bm's, i have been a little constipated which is a novelty for me because i have crohns disease which gives me the opposite problem although it isn't active right now and this pain is compltely different, having had crohns for 15 years i know the difference. To the lady who asked about the wheat intolerance, i have that too and follow a compltely gluten free diet. I have struggled to eat at the best of times during this pregnancy and have lost loads of weight so i don't think meal sizes are the issue but i am going to try little and often.

this sounds quite similar to me, i was prescribed omeprazole which prevents you from producing too much stomach acid but today he took me off those and prescribed gaviscon which i have to take 4 times a day. Thing is i don't suffer from heartburn but i'll try anything, i can't face this for the next 10 weeks, i feel so weak and drained today. Thanks for the reply x
