Feet swelling not going down?

My feet have been swelling off an on these past couple weeks, I'm not 37 weeks 1 day. For the first time, I noticed when I woke up to very swollen feet! Usually by the end of the day they are swollen, but by morning they are back to normal, but not this morning.

Is this a worry? My book says that swelling is fine if it goes away within 12 hours of resting. It was hot last night and I didn't sleep well, ate lots of salt yesterday, but i don't want to make excuses for a potential issue!

Anyone else have perpetually swollen feet?

I have some swelling all the time now. The mw has seen it and is keeping an eye on it but my bp is fine and it's not excessive. If yours is excessive or you are concerned you could give your mw a call and see what they say x

Are your hands, fingers and face swollen too? I know swelling is common in your pregnancy but if its not gone down after resting, why don't you ring your MW just for some advice and reassurance?

My feet always seem to be swollen now, I even have toe tyres it looks wrong
This morning I woke up and my hands were really swollen too, so the rings are off from now on with the looks of it!

My midwife wasn't concerned when I told her, just told me to try to rest and put my feet up. Not sure what I should be doing with my hands though

My feet have been swelling pretty bad the past week and the other day is spread to my hands. Sometimes when I wake up in the morning, my feet are so swollen that it hurts to walk. I end up taking a shower, then I sit down on the couch and put my feet up. Within a few minutes of putting my feet up on the couch the swelling goes down.

Apart from that, try putting your feet into a bucket of cool or cold water for a couple of minutes, and drink a bit more water. Maybe you did have too much salt yesterday and the water just got stuck in your feet. You could also try going to bed with a pillow under your feet to help elevate them above your heart to bring down swelling at night.

Yes, I just started getting massively swollen in the feet, ankles and calves! Like 3 days ago, literally. It feels like I'm carrying around ankle weights!

I think if it gets really bad, accompanied with headache and blurred vision, call the labor ward right away, that could be a sign of preclampsia.

my feet were constantly swollen from 34 weeks and only went down totally when my baby was 1 week old, just make sure your bp is fine

My feet have been swollen really badly for 3 weeks and have just gone down yesterday morning. I think it's ok but if you have swelling in your hands and face too I'd give your midwife a quick call to check

I'm in Canada and don't have a midwife to call. The only option is going to the labour ward and waiting 4 hours to see someone, or going to a drop in clinic, waiting 4 hours to get my blood pressure checked. It's awful, annoying and frustrating.

The swelling isn't major. It is in my hands as well, but you couldn't tell to look, I only know because my rings don't fit anymore. I'm going to get a foot bath today and put cold water in it. I'm also going to try something different and go for a walk. Maybe that will get my blood circulating. I work reception and was sitting all yesterday, that couldn't have helped!

Make sure you drink lots and lots of water, though it sounds daft it really does help. Mine have been swollen for the last 3 months, bruised and tender to touch. They are usually a lot better in the morning but if I haven't had a good sleep they're often still swollen in the morning. My MW and Consultant aren't concerned though I am tired of all the remarks though!
