What does "waters breaking" look like?

When your waters break would it be a big gush or can it be a dribble? I've just stood up and felt a dribble but it could be discharge? What does it look like? Not sure what to do, thanks

It can be a gush or a trickle .... keep an eye on it and if it carries on i would ring delivery and ask for advice.... they may want to check you over.

It's not usually a gush unless you are lying down because baby is den in the pelvis & the head kind of acts like a plug so it's often a trickle.
Amniotic fluid should be clear and tends to have a sweet smell.
Give your midwife a ring - they'll probably suggest putting on a pad & monitoring for a couple of hours to see if you leak any further fluid.

OoH you're the same far gone as me!! Wish I was getting trickles!! Sounds hopeful, i'd stick a pad in and see what happens I have heard people say lay down for half hour then stand up again and see if it trickles again.

I'd ring the ward aswell they'll probably just have you in and thats the best way to get confirmation really!! xxx
